GTX 570 = or > GTX 480
GTX 670 = or > GTX 580
GTX 770 = or > GTX 680
GTX 970 = or > GTX 780 Ti

safe to assume that GTX 1070 = or > GTX 980 Ti, plus both Nvidia and AMD are moving to 16nm and 14nm respectively from 28nm
(all speculations based on evidences, don't come barking back at me if u sold your 980 Ti and my speculation is wrong, ppl...  )

Thousands of users complain in Nvidia driver forum, I don't think thousands of them not install properly

There must be some coding causing old card to brick and I can't consider my card is new (even though I just bough it 3 months ago, 750Ti is 2 years tech)

EA today launched a landing page for the World Premiere of next generation of Battlefield. On May 6th, 2016 at 1 PM Pacific, 4PM Eastern and 9PM British Summer Time, Electronic Arts will hold a live stream announcing the Battlefield 5. This will be the 11th title since this franchise launched in 2002, and probably the most expected one. Star Wars: Battlefront was quite a disappointment and not a single Battlefield title managed to beat Call of Duty from the throne of annual-to-bi-annual franchises that storm the bestselling charts.

At the same time, Nvidia is hosting its secretive meeting where the selected invitees will be introduced to GP104 and GP106, second and third chip based off the Pascal GPU architecture. While the big chip, GP100 launched as Tesla P100 and won’t see the world of PC gaming / workstation until first half of 2017, GP104 and GP106 are the chips that will ‘bring the honey’ for Nvidia as both GeForce and Quadro boards, making sure the company keeps the leading market share.

If nothing changes at the last minute, the GP104 will be branded as GeForce GTX 1080, succeeding the GeForce GTX 980.

I share with u how i do it

1) download new driver

2) download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from tomshardware

3) uninstall physx driver

4) uninstall display driver

5) restart pc in safe mode

6) run DDU as admin - choose high recommended options - it will restart auto

7) run driver installer package as admin

8) select clean install in package selection

9) restart after finish install

Im on win10 latest official build

The only issue im facing, my screen will go blank during step 4. What i do, i give it 1 minute time and let the process finish. I just tap my keyboard and restart. U have to memorized the tapping steps. If u didnt face the same issue, continue with the steps given.

Been doing these steps for years and no issue with GPU fry whatever including the latest two drivers.
