Last year, I went there with my collegaues. Stayed at Villa Dahlia. I guess the place is not bad! Got hot water too. Pretty decent apartment too!

i hope the rate is not pricey becuase i've really got to control the purse string. rates under RM80 would be just perfectly fine.

Villa dahlia is a 2 or 3 rooms apt -leh..The price will not fall<RM140!....The best I can get on non school holiday period but weekend is RM140 for a 2 rooms apt....but consider OK-liow bcos this translated to RM70/room....Infact what they mean by 2 rooms is they go & locked another room!

Yes agreed....I go there to hibernate too...dun really like going to the markets & etc....just eat & sleep at the cool resort....& it has been one of my favourite hibernating place....

For food try not to eat at Brinchang..all the restaurant there really like a slaughtering hse..prices of food worst than KL or even JB! The best alternative are those eateries at Tanah Rata....more cosy & reasoble pricing..The best tom yum steamboat there is Mayflower....

Oh yeah.. Mayflower is real value for money.... there is one though at Brinchang for errr... Organic vege one... nice too...smile.gif.

I like tea time at T-Cafe.... their hot scones are heavenly on a cold evening.. but but.. please dont try their cantonese fried noodles... scones and pancakes are ok.

Not really. I hv tried another "famous" charcoal steamboat in between Kea farm & Tringkap ..I think "WaterCrest" The pricing is toatlly diff from others..i.e they dun go by per head but instead by pot (I think ~RM15) & then by no of dishes which range from RM5-RM10 per dish! If big family I think should be reasonable but for a family of 2+1, u might end up paying>RM40 for the steamboat...steamboat so-so only although using ancient charcoal cooker

Kpg Raja? thats pretty far.... and the town smells of manure.... sad.gif. What is good there? maybe I pop in to try on one of my hibernating escapades.. due real soon...

Hehehe.. for me my brekkie in CH is roti canai at tanah rata... and I lurrrrve the teh tarik there early in the morning.. and late at night... its fresh tea aroma is fantastic in the cold thin air... smile.gif.

Whereabouts opposite Tanah Rata town? Mayflower is good value for money, tried the other one Hong Kong or Kowloon steamboat.. sigh... small portions and not as tasty...

The other thing I normally buy fr CH is honey... I normally get it from this guy who will even deliver it to KL for me nowadays if he comes down... smile.gif. Thats what I call great service... His honey has done miracle to my gastric. Not promoting... shhh.. kekeke..

i usually have my lunch at kpg raja on my way up and on my way down,
from brinchang go there need like 15-20 mins minimum
if got trucks or buses even longer

erm.. u know there's a new row of stalls at tanah rata ?
opposite traveler's pub/bistro
then opposite this new row of stalls (across the main road) is a garage (i think)
u can look for the steamboat restaurant by entering the junction, just around 1 mins drive from the entrance

honey, where can get it?

Talking about food in CH, way back in late 90 or early 2000, I alway hv my lunch at a stall opposite Tanah Rata Post Office, that was when they tear down the stalls & build thw white elephent taxi/bus terminal.

There is one particular stall operated by Chinese handicapped (deaf) couple....and really luv the pancakes & the chinese fried noodle/beehoon..reasonable too)...But right now, since they built the new taxi terminal, dunno where is this handicapped couple is...any idea where they are?

Yup... will check that one out!

Honey, I got it from this guy, he sells at a bazaar on the left going up from Brinchang to Kea Farm. Le Apis... he sells various types of honey, I go for his natural wild honey as the other cheap versions sold everywhere has syrup and flavour hence not really good. I also got a bottle of propolis which is very good for sore throat.. it is apparently nature's natural antibiotics... smile.gif excellent. But his wild honey is excellent.. not really sweet.. but tangy feel.
