hi Sifu,
I have one question here.
My wife was studying in university in the first half year of 2017. (graduate in May'17)
She is now working too, but is it better to declare under my name, due to my salary is higher and will have to pay tax?
May I know can I get tax relief for the income tax? (education)
TQ.

Please advise if this is against law to actually force us to pay a set amount because from the grape vine is that this pcb is non negotiable. I thought you can stipulate the amount?

Please help if you read this before I escalate this. Really appreciate it
*
found this on google...
The Online PCB Calculator 2017 (Kalkulator PCB) provided by LHDN Malaysia allows users to calculate their monthly PCB (MTD) online. Alternatively, LHDN also provides a PCB Table (SCHEDULE OF MONTHLY TAX DEDUCTION) for users to do their PCB payroll calculations manually.

caveat emptor...just use it for info only/reference for yr accountant may have a "latest" one.

*
while waiting for responses,...I kay poh abit
I guess it depends on the transaction date stated in your buying statement....
for it depends on when your money will be officially received by that investment house and when they start to do the buying for you,
btw, do you have PPA a/c opened? if none..then it will have lag time too....

Hi,

I want to ask the following scenario:

Person A is renting a house
Company B is paying for person A rental
but the cheque issued by company B is to person C, then person C pass the rental money to person A

So, may I know whether person C will kene income tax for helping person C to receive the money?
*
hmm.gif my uneducated guess is....
Company will declare less tax because rental paid to C
LHDN will want to get that money taxed...
LHDN will check person C a/c to see if declaration are made? if no, why?
why C pay rental for A is not an issue for LHDN for C and pay rental for A as his GF. biggrin.gif

guys, if LHDN demand me substantiate donation slip for tahun taksiran 2015, this mean i need to give them all donation resit dated 2014 to them?
*
I think they want those donations to "Approved entities" only....
thus some are not eligible

I wanna ask, for the parents tax relief, rm1500 for father and rm1500 for mother. How they wanna prove u got give money to your parents if u give cash only?
*
Tax relief for tax payer who provide "parental care" for their parents is given tax relief of RM1,500 for the mother and RM1,500 for the father. The relief is subject to the condition that each parent does not have income exceeding RM2,000 a month and must be 60 years and above (From year of assessment 2016 until year of assessment 2020).

https://www.gunalanassociates.net/single-po...ASSESSMENT-2016

did not claim medical treatment, special needs and care expenses for parents in the same year of assessment.
http://malaysiandigest.com/frontpage/29-4-...s-for-2017.html

hmm.gif still haven't found the answer to "How they wanna prove u got give money to your parents if u give cash only?"
hmm.gif even if one did have documented proof that IBG did took place from one a/c top another a/c.......the parents can still be "asked" to refund the money rolleyes.gif

thumbsup.gif good question.

Hi guys starting a really small food side business, estimate profits be around 2-3k a year only (just to finance hobbies, travel etc)

While it is small, i do have taxable income from my full time job.

Do i still need to register with ssm and declare my profits?
*
hmm.gif RM 2~3k pa....thus about RM250 pm
do you issue receipt or acknowlegde receipts of payment from your customers?
if none,...i would say "forget about tellng LHDN" for they will have no proof of that extra income of your, eventhough legally one must declare it.
