Wanna ask something about tax rebate.

Last year I bought a phone by cash. Got receipt.
This year I wanna claim tax rebate on that rm2500 lifestyle rebate but then I realised  that receipt got no GST number. No wonder sold quite cheap.

Does it mean this receipt is not valid and hence I am not entitled to this rebate?
*
Does the receipt has your name and the name of the company?

GST payment is not a requirement...

Maintenance fees and sinking fund should be considered as expenses as well and deductible from rental income?
The document only listed examples.

"Aside from the ‘standard’ list of tax-deductible expenses that a lot of people is asking for, what I can provide you here is a list of COMMON expenses that generally may be claimed as a deduction against rental income, provided that you as the landlord has undertaken to pay for those expenses:....."

I think the charges is for the use of the payment platform
(someone had to make profit after creating the infrastructure for the platform)
if you can goto LHDN directly...I think then there should be no charges....

I remembered I tried to use the online payment platform that can see how much I owe the city council.....it is always RM5 more than what I owe..... doh.gif
never used that platform ever since that day...now I just go to the city council kiosk to pay.....yes more troublesome but I don't like to be conned....they could have just state on the website that RM5 will be charged when using the platform....but they just diam diam just shows the payment amount to be paid. ranting.gif

Hi all, appreciate if anyone can help on tax relief on the following cases.

1. I visited an eye doctor for checkup, cost me RM500-plus for the examination and specialist's consultation. Can I claim this under the RM500 medical examination relief?

2. For vaccination for cervical cancer, can this be claimed under the above category (different person from No.1)

3. For parent's medical bills (flu vaccination and normal GP consultation), can this be claimed under medical expenses for parents?

RPGT is filed by SPA (used to be called S&P) lawyer when we sign the SPA.
U R saying if bonus is paid in April 2018, this bonus will be reported in tax year 2018 ?
*
I think there is this Due Date of MTD Payment consideration as mentioned by David in his post

i think this consideration applies....
"the due date of MTD payment is extended from the 10th of the calendar month to the 15th of the calendar month.
As an example, the January 2015 MTD will be due for payment on 15 February 2015"
https://home.kpmg.com/xx/en/home/insights/2...t-2015-012.html

thus a DEC 2017 MTD on employee's bonus payment will be due for payment to Goverm on 15 January 2018...??
so if bonus in April 2018 will be for which year?

this is what I know of...

Normally, lawyer whom you engage to handle the transaction will do it for you by submitting the relevant CHKTK from.
It is wise to check they already do this to avoid any misunderstanding.

my lawyer did it for me.....I got a letter from lhdn saying that it is exempted....

Hi Guy,

Got a question on the PCB deduction, is it compulsory for a company to deduct PCB of employee on monthly basis.

Let say I work for a new company on Nov to Dec 2017, which does not provide me an EA form. It is necessary for me to file the income tax on the new company?
*
Employer's Responsiblities
Employer's responsibilities under the MTD Rules are as follows:
http://www.hasil.gov.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...nit=1&bt_sequ=1

I add in the income obtained from my new company into the sum of my income from the old company when declaring tax.

Hi Guys and girls ,
Don't know if you can help me on the questions I have below.

1) If I received a dividen for buying shares , Do I fill up that figure under " Pendapatan berkanun faedah, diskaun, royalti, premium, pencen, anuiti, bayaran berkala lain dan apa-apa perolehan atau keuntungan lain " ?
Or I don't need to since it have adopted this "Single Tier System " base on the the first page of this thread .

2) For "Yuran pendidikan (sendiri)" does it also include exam fees like those IT certification (eg CCNP ) ?

3) Does it count as computer if i just bought some parts like RAM, CPU or Harddisk ? Or It will only be count if i bought it as a whole set here ?
Like a new desktop or a laptop . This is under the "Gaya hidup - Perbelanjaan untuk diri sendiri, suami / isteri atau anak"
I tried calling them up but keep getting busy tone.
Thanks if you can answer my simple questions. notworthy.gif

1) Are investment income and capital gains taxed in Malaysia? If so, how?
Malaysia adopts the single-tier system, where dividends paid by a resident company would be tax exempt in the hands of its shareholders.
https://home.kpmg.com/xx/en/home/insights/2...income-tax.html
so i guess, no need to fill in,..but just keep the detailed copy for reference when needed by lhdn.

2) not sure,..but i think cannot lah......if can those attend other certification course like,. baking, cooking, etc, etc also can.....
best check with lhdn.

3) heard before in these threads....parts needs to be able to form a computer.....not just some partial parts...best check with lhdn

hope this is relevant to your post....

Q1: Who needs to furnish Form B?
A1: Form B needs to be furnished by an individual who is resident in Malaysia and carries on a business.

Q2: What is the difference between Form BE and Form B?
A2: BE Form - income assessed under Section 4 (b) - 4 (f) of the Income Tax Act 1967 (ITA 1967)
and be completed by individual residents who have income other than business.

Form B - income assessed under Section 4 (a) - 4 (f) of the ITA 1967
and be completed by individual residents who have business income (sole proprietorship) or partnership.

Q3: Can I declare my business income if I receive a Form BE?
A3: No, can not. Business income should be declared in the Form B.

Q4: Can I declare my employment income if I receive a Form B?
A4: Yes, you can. But please take note that the appropriate form is Form BE.

*
maybe Q28 of that link provided too you applies to you...

Q28: I am a real estate agent / stocks / insurance / direct sales business. But I have not registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia. What form should I use to declare my income?

A28: Types of forms to be filled is not depending on whether you have registered the business with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) or not.
It depends on the source of the income received by you whether or not a business source.

Income received by an independent agent is treated as business income. Therefore, you must declare the income in Form B.

*
this is what I read while surfing here....
use the current (latest) employer's No: Majikan in the BE form
combine the sum of both the EA forms

keep both the EA form for proof of of documentation when called up by lhdn.
