QUOTE(-vip3rleon9- @ Oct 26 2006, 02:20 PM) you mean the 3M tape trick? is it a loose screw or something that's causing it? Hehe, yeah, it is the tape trick as i m the creator, hehe....i think it is just loose naturally due to design weakness.

QUOTE(-vip3rleon9- @ Oct 27 2006, 08:54 AM) just a dumb dumb question, but is the slider still as smooth as when it was when it was new? Well, even it is a brand new set, the slider is a bit loose already...Unless you ask the shop to let you try a few sets of N80 until u are satisfied with the tightness of the slider, but i guess the shop ppl will give u a very dark face ...Anyhow, they will still be a bit loose. Personally i like the tightness of the sliding after i applied the trick, just personal preferences, you might not like it

QUOTE(akachester @ Oct 27 2006, 01:03 PM) Well, the price of the N80 had not move for a very long time though..Staying at the 1.7k mark for quite some time now (AP set i mean)..Darn, still too expensive for me to own one.Maybe due to the problem of not having a successor to lower down the price...Anyway, any idea a successor of the N80 will appear? N95 in 1Q2007 i guess

QUOTE(buffalowings @ Nov 9 2006, 04:18 PM) hi...can u all help me? i just bought an ap n80 from rm1680...not sure i been cheated...as it looks dusty....and the cd sticker looks like it was printed using a bublejet printer... anyhow....my set has jawi words on the keypad..... anyone has a set like this? I certainly did not hear of anything like this before you told us so...i think your set might be an AP set imported from some middle east country like europology has already stated. Why don't you bring the phone back to the shop where you purchase it and ask them why. QUOTE(unamed @ Nov 9 2006, 05:18 PM) My N80 has a slight defect. The right softkey and the green dial button is not properly put into place. The whole keypad seems to be fixed more to the left of the phone. This causes the right side of the keypad to be loose and would certainly come out if it gets prick with minor force. My original waranthy is still available...does it cover for it? How long would they get it fixed? If your set is an original set, just get it to one of the authorized service center and get it fixed. i believed it is covered under the warranty.

QUOTE(kvys2000 @ Nov 15 2006, 08:47 AM) seems like not many are using N80 now judging the activeness of this thread. Anyway, can N80 support up to 2GB memory card? How's the performance? Compare to 1GB? I am using 2GB miniSD with my N80, so far so good, no problem at all I did not feel any performance difference if compare to 1GB

QUOTE(iRonTech @ Nov 30 2006, 08:22 AM) What the purpose of Podcasting? for online music?? Podcasts are regular digital audio or video broadcasts that can be downloaded and played on mobile devices and personal computers. News agencies and other sources offer podcasts on a wide range of topics. Often podcasts are regularly updated in a series of new episodes, so users often subscribe to their favourite shows. The Nokia Podcasting application allows you to find, subscribe to and download podcasts over the air with your Nokia N80. After downloading a podcast, you can listen to or watch it when you want. You can choose whether the Podcasting application uses Wireless LAN (requires WLAN network access) or GPRS/WCDMA packet data (requires a packet data plan) to download podcasts to your Nokia N80. QUOTE(wkyoong @ Dec 4 2006, 09:06 PM) Hey people. I dont own a N80. But i've been concsidering to get one. I would like to ask about the sound quality of the audio playback on the N80. Does the equiliser make any dramatic changes to the quality of the playback? Do the songs sound any better than the ones played on a N70? And is the slider really that fragile? as in will it lose its sturdiness after long term usage? pls and thx I can't answer u the first part of ur question as i didn't demand much from my phone for the sound quality, as long as it plays the sound. I do not owned a N70 so i can't give u a direct comparison. But i would like to say that the N80 sounds decent at least. Slider design has movable parts, and movable parts will have their wear n tear sooner or later, it is unavoidable. I feel my N80 sliding stays quite firm after more than 6 months of usage but maybe bcoz i already mod the sliding mechanism (Check post #1 for tips ) If you want something which stays solid over time, suggestion would be u go for candy bar design, which doesn't has any movable parts

QUOTE(kenneth87 @ Dec 5 2006, 03:33 PM) Depends.... Even SE walkman series, if u on the mega bass equalizer, the sound will bcome quite harsh, in another word, the bass more than treble. If u disable, the sound is like not equal. For N80, it is equal. Eventhough u on the "bass boaster" equalize, u wont get harsh bass like SE does. Then when u put on ur nice headphone o in ear earphone, the sound is fantastic. Dont trust me? Try 2 bring ur earphone along to a nearest phone shop to try it out.... U will b amaze. I second that if music is played with earphone attached to N80, it sounds fantastic as i tried it before, even with stock earphone. If u play the music with N80 loud speaker, it is OK but not as nice as it is in the earphone.
