Are u looking for indoor or outdoor filter? Or both?

Since u do not need any functions except directly drinkable, find one that filters heavy metals and viruses, the cheapest LG model that suits ur need is RM2,800 or RM50/mth

Im looking for indoor filter first.

WD216 is the cheapest model we have, its exactly like 516 except no cold water function (still has hot water)

Other than the usual dirt/odor/chlorine being filtered, it also filters out 9 types of heavy metals and norovirus

Since it's also tankless, it cost less electricity and doesn't require a technician visit for service (we still provide such service to those who cant DIY at additional cost)

Hi I am officially rent LG PuriCare WD516AN for 7 years

I have questions to ask

1. When I want to drink air suam, the installer said choose hot with 40 celcius, my question is what is the different between this hot 40 celcius and ambient drink?
At first I thought ambient drink was air suam,

2. My second question is LG ThinQ apps which show High temp sterilization and got Last internal pipe sterilization, Last water outlet sterilization & schedule internal pipe sterilization. My question is that same with the second photo on physical WD516AN which show Internal Sterilize = schedule internal pipe sterilization?

3. My third question is when I ask installer regarding schedule high-temp sterilization, he said the process took only 15 minutes to do this process? is it true?

4. What is the function outlet sterilize? Is is neccessary or must to do outlet sterilize because as I know is it not automatic like the internal sterilize and must do manual and when I ask the installer, he said is my decision to do or not

1. Ur air suam is room temp or luke warm? biggrin.gif Ambient = Room temp (usually 26°C), 40°C = luke warm

2. Ya same, the button is there in case u want to do it manually (i.e. outside the scheduled timing)

3. Roughly 15~20 min, but usually our technician set it at midnight 3am when no one is using and it just run auto so u probably wont notice

4. Outlet sterilisation = Flushing the outlet with hot water (in addition to the hourly UV sterilisation), since hot water will flow out, need to put a container before starting the process, that's why can only do it manually. Suggest do it once a month thumbup.gif

Point 1: Ambient water is same temp as your ambient. Air suam is usually warm water, hence LG Technician recommend this temp to you. Usually baby milk is mixed at this temperature.

Point 2: Internal pipe sterilisation in the app is the same as the physical button on the water purifier. Outlet sterilisation button will dispense hot water to sterilise the outlet spout, this will take 15 minutes to complete.

Point 3: High Temp internal sterilisation takes 15 mins to complete, and purifier is down during this period. It will take estimated about 2hours for cold water to resume (at max temp after sterilising). Usually my personal recommendation is to set this at mid morning or whenever the use of the purifier is not required.

Point 4: Internally there is UV light which sterilises the internal of the outlet spout every hour. This outlet sterilise flushes hot water to the water outlet, sterilising with hot water. If you frequently use hot water, this may not be necessary to be performed, again my personal recommendation is to run it once a month.

No worry, not stupid question thumbsup.gif

Only 1 type of sterilisation is manual, the other 2 types are auto, so u dun have to worry bout them:

1. Internal pipe sterilisation auto weekly, to flush with hot water the machine's internal pipings

2. Water outlet UV sterilisation is auto hourly, to kill bacteria growing on its surface

3. Water outlet sterilisation (hot water flushing) is manual, cuz it uses hot water to flush the outlet, so must put a container

Usually for babies, the milk is best at our body temperature, 37 to 40degC. Hence the availability of this temperature for LG water purifier.

Ambient is usually lower temp than this.

1 and 3 are both flushing with hot water, mainly to clean up any residue in the pipes or any dust on the faucet (since the faucet is exposed, flying dust may attach on it, even though UV alrd kill any bacteria, still need to clear the dust) biggrin.gif

Both 516 and 518 has both hot and cold water, 216 only have hot water, other aspects all same as 516

216 vs 518 only 4 diff:

1. 10ml volume control - Can set any volume u like every 10ml between 120~1000ml (i.e. 120, 130, 140 etc. all the way to 1000ml)

2. Favourite preset - Can set 3 favourite presets of volume + temperature combo (Preset A = 120ml 40°C for baby formula, Preset B = 270ml 85°C for coffee etc.), 1 button to change both volume and temperature you use most frequently

3. Both has auto up-down water tap (to avoid water spill out, safer hot water use), but LG Objet is square shape, so once installed water tap cannot swing horizontally 180° (But LG can help reposition/relocate for Free 1 time every year)

4. 518 is RM60/mth, 216 is RM50/mth

Hello,
You still here?
You change your C-Complete replacement cartridge every year?

I read the ctm-02 box "change the disposable filter cartridge every 6 months or sooner if you observe a noticeable reduction in water flow rate."
This is not recommended 6 months.

I compared with below

https://www.3m.com.my/3M/en_MY/p/d/v000217068/
3M™ Aqua-Pure™ Under Sink Dedicated Faucet Water Filter Cartridge AP Easy C-Complete,
Filter Life 6 months
Replacement Interval 6.0 Month

https://www.3m.com.my/3M/en_MY/p/d/v000217064/
3M™ AP Easy Complete Drinking Water Filter System (Undersink)
Replacement Interval Up to 6 months

What is your opinion? If CTM-01, do you think also need change cartridge every 6 months, not 6-12 months?

Thank you.

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ May 17 2017, 10:02 PM)
Both have NSF/ANSI Standard 42 and 53.
ESpring has extra NSF standard 55 for UV but price also extra by more than 3k.
For those on value for money budget filter, alternative to NSF standard 55 is to boil the water.
BTW, my suggestions were intended to those who are looking for affordable clean and NSF certified water filter at lowest cost.
If budget is not a concern, no need to compare, just buy any brand you think is best.
3M CTM-01 is using C-CTM-01 cartridge. It is tested in accordance with NSF/ANSI Standard 42 & 53 without certification. Use the C-CTM-01 till the next cartridge replacement and replace it with 3M C-Complete cartridge which is listed and certified in NSF.

Additional tip for budget conscious consumer, if you save RM4k in FD @4%p.a. You will earn RM160 interest per annum. You can then use the money to subsidize the purchase of C-Complete replacement cartridge every year.

3m is well known for super aggressive change schedule. You can do 12 month most of the time, unless you are using a lot of water or the flow gets really bad. There is no reason why it can't last 12 months.
