3m is the best choice I believe. Affordable price. No backwash needed. Filter is small in size and nice in looking. Indoor one can hide easily under sink.

Correct me if I am wrong, I believe the water is boiled and kept at the same temperature throughout the day.

Another thing you might want to consider is cleaning the water tank. Over time it will get dirty inside and you need to clean it.

So my advice to my customers is if hot water is really a must, use a separate boiler. That way you can see inside the boiler and clean it when it is dirty.

Lastly, ask yourself, how much hot water do you need per day? Do you really need the hot and cold function?
*
Yup correct. No need to buy this. For water that is cooked over and over again it will make the water 'hard'.

eSpring design is also nice looking, not too fancy but elegant built.

The 3M unit is 17KG, is it feasible?

I think this brand of 3-Sec thermos flask is not bad. But no more in stock.

I am using their storage heater too which I bought 3 years ago. Very good and energy saving because it is using dc power. Out of stock model. Mine is Single tank 60 litres.

ya saw posts from forumer here that the 3-sec is actually made in china, but dun know why they claim is own brand.

and it spoiled quite easily.

but anyway, i did not get one, since i really hardly use boiled water at home.

Avoid those 3 seconds instant hot water at all cost. It wouldn't last.
That's why you don't see reputable brands manufacture it.
*
yup, does not look very good quality.

but seers this brand their water heater is indeed not bad.

most importantly it is using dc power so it is safe to use in bathroom.

For condo/apartment, just install the under sink water filter la. Why so troublesome to install outdoor one?

I would say you are correct in 90% of the cases. But I've been to 1 condo in Cheras for example, older condo, where dirt and rust that was coming from the pipes was just too much. Actually, why do you think condo water is any better than landed house water? The reason why I think PoE is not required for condo, is because most of the time it will cost too much to install it compared to the benefits, unless when water is truly horrible.
*
Dust or whatever no matter how also will have. Outdoor can do a bit of initial filtering but it can only bigger participles like dust etc only also. Indoor unit normally have much finer filtering which it can certainly filter whatever outdoor unit can filter. Most landed houses will install both becos in that case, it can prolong the lifespan of their indoor unit.

Why say that apartment/condo is not suitable just simply due to the hassle to do so. I dun think all management will agree for it to be installed given the limited space available. If landed, it is a no brainer.

It is not to mainly prolong the lifetime of indoor unit, it would be quite expensive, since you can install a cheap pre-filter from that if system doesn't already come with 1. It is for showers, washing machines, prevent the dirt to accumulate inside the tank etc. Outside filter can remove down to 1-10 micron, which is pretty good if your pipes and tank are new or if you have serious dirt coming from the main pipe. I'm not big fan of PoE filters, but they can be useful. But I totally agree that PoE is IN NO WAY a replacement for PoU and PoU is significantly more important.

As for apartment, I agree with you. Most of the time management does not allow to install at the riser, and therefore requires expensive wall hacking and patching. However, when the management does allow installer at the riser, it makes sense to install.
*
Pro-Long = save cost. Same thing I mean. If u got outdoor unit to filter first, the indoor unit will filter less therefore the lifespan is prolonged thus u change filter later instead thus eventually saving more cost.

Is LG purecare good? Considering it? Or any other tankless one good? Is it even using RO filter?

I actually prefer 3M one but it has tanks.

Don't mind me posting the questions u PM me over here so everyone can see

Q1. 517 is in fact an older model than 516 and 518 (don't ask me why, small potato like me can't question the decisions of our HQ  sweat.gif ) So it's been phased out

So let's just focus on 516 and 518  biggrin.gif

They only have 3 differences, both model same price:
1) 518 has 10ml volume control (between 120~1000ml, i.e. 120, 130, 140, 150 all the way to 1000ml as u like), 516 can use the preset 120, 250, 500 and 1000ml only
2) 518 has favourite presets - Can set 3 favourite presets, (i.e. Preset A = 120ml 40°C say for baby formula, Preset B = 270ml 85°C for coffee, Preset C = 620ml normal temperature for water bottle etc.), 1 button to change both volume and temperature that you use most frequently
3) 518 water tap cannot move 180° horizontally like 516 can, due to it being square design, but can still be installed horizontally, just that once installed cannot move the tap as u like
516 water tap can move horizontally as desired, i always use vertical for cup then swing it to the right when i fill up my bottles/cooking pot

Q2. Monthly rental for self-service is RM60 or RM90, regular visit is RM80 or RM110 depend if u take 5 or 7 yrs contract

Q3. Our pricing can be confusing sry bout that notworthy.gif

If rental customer need to choose 2 things:
1) Choose 5 or 7 yrs contract
2) Choose self-service or regular visit

Self-service is very easy, also cheaper, so always recommended unless at home no one knows how to change filter (says elderly ppl, OKU etc.)

Personally i recommend 7 yrs self-service:
1) The machine is tankless, so don't need technician visit to clean the tank anyway, so LG designed the machine with self-service functions, customer just change the filter then the machine will flush the new filter automatically, also can clean it more frequently unlike technician only visit every few months
2) Cheaper than regular visit, even cheaper if take 7 yrs
3) 5 yrs contract is more expensive overall, cuz at 3rd year it gives u an option (to return the unit, keep using the unit or upgrade to a newer model).
But i think is unnecessary, we are alrd offering what LG Korea have except 1 model where they add voice control to 518, which i cant think of a scenario for it to be useful (mayb put a cup there and run far far away then shout "dispense water"?  biggrin.gif )

Q4. Both filters and warranty are covered during the whole 5/7 yrs, if rosak, LG fix for u completely free, compressor warranty even longer at 10 yrs

Q5. Yes, after rental period ends, you own the machine and can continue use it, just buy filter package will do (but no more warranty ya)
*
How much is the cost of the filter package alone?

The promo of RM50 for WD516AN is ended last year. Price is RM60 now at the moment.

If you dont need cold water, you still can get RM50 for WD216AN model which is without cold water
*
I see. I will still go for WD156AN as having cold water to drink anytime is a nice thing to have seriously.

Besides, which colour is nicer?
1) navy blue
2) silver
3) white

Hard to say and depends on UV light presence from sunlight as well, like direct installation facing sunlight (beside window) or in conjunction of UV light + heat can cause such issues.

There are smart way to overcome this, using water proof wallpaper decals from Kaison or so to customise the outer layer of the water purifier and you can replace, if you need a different look to it.

Navy blue hard to see dirt, and some like the polished look of silver. All depends on preference.

icic. ok. then i will stick to navy blue. easier to match with the house decoration. tongue.gif

cannot wait for it to be installed.
