Which is recommended between LG Puricare and Bacfree Watero.

Looking for hot water dispenser. Thanks

Don't take Watero, really no point. Either undersink or LG. Watero is only good if you have no access to water source, but then might as well just drink from water bottles. IMO it is a failed concept of a filter, with super narrow use case.

looking for a undersink filter... preferable can directly drink from tap kind

1. landed or condo? Condo (studio)
2. how many pax in your household? 1-2 (usualy only me alone T.T)
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? no
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) yes, as long there is good instruction
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? prefer can directly outright buy, but if no, 150/mth also can
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? yes below 2k
7. do you own external water filter yet? condo, not allowed
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? i dont drink hot water at home, if needed just use kattle..., i do use fridge cold water tho.

recently saw a brand named Azure, which is precisely what i needed, but online search up (after the SA) found nothing to back up their claim. and not much info around

Hoping someone could give some insight. Thank you very much in advanced.

1. Landed double storey.
2. 2 Adults and 1 Baby
3. No kidney disease or related
4. Yes, replacement filter or easy maintenance should be doable.
5. Prefer 1 time purchase
6. Budget about 1.5k
7. Not Yet. Looking for Internal and External
8. Hot water function is not a must. But it is a plus. I have a Youmi instant water heater that could dispense hot water from a water tank.

Thanks again in advanced guys.

The xiaomi/youmi water dispenser, the tank need to be clean frequently to avoid microbe to grow.

If 1.5k just to filter the water, personally feeling not that worth it.

If you can use your current dispenser, then you can just get a simple undersink filter and either connect it directly to the dispenser (if there is such an option) or just fill the tank from that filter, I assume it is one of those removable tanks.

Hi, I am weighing between PJ-37MRF-ZMA and 3M-CTM-01 for a person staying in a rented studio. Appreciate any input in terms of easy installation, quality of filtration, cost effectiveness and other relevant aspects. Thanks in advance

In case you guys don't mind used product, you can buy a well known branded eSpring from second hand market, it cost range from between RM1000-200 (or less). With 3rd party certification benchmark which is NSF 42, 53, 55, 401, P473, P477. Then buy a new filter, and follow Youtube tutorial or call your ABO buddy (is not hard to randomly find a agent whistling.gif ) to install for you for FREE. laugh.gif

So if let's say you want the top tier water filter in the second hand market with the most complete spare part available for DIY, this is the one you should looking for. Reason?

You might wonder, what if it broke few months later? Nah, it won't. Because one of mine using since 2010 are still working as of today, I bought a used one price at RM50 (made in 2013), and still usable today in 2023 (bought it from Carousell in 2020)

My cost ownership of this used water filter are as below.

What I didn't replace are.

New one are selling at RM3699 - listed in their website. I think any other ABO reading this gonna hate me ranting.gif , but I think this is a fun project. I save almost RM3000 just to get the top tier quality water filter. The only downside, it doesn't came with hot/cold water feature. sad.gif But hey, it does the basic purpose to filter dirty water into clean water directly from the tap, right? cool2.gif - Yes with NSF Certified

The motherboard is the most expensive part, and the rest of the body part are range between RM50-150/part (tubing, faucet, adapter, body etc). All used unit most probably came all with it, if u need replacement, follow my price sheet above. You might wonder, what if I directly buy all of the part above directly from the company and DIY? nah, it doesn't work this way, the company will check and ask why/what reason you want, you need to bring your own unit for them to diagnose it before you can buy those part separately. wink.gif

I had a few requests recently to help remove fluoride from the water, as you may know, Malaysia is one of the few countries still adding fluoride to the tap water.

There is NO simple solution for that. Don't believe that there is a cartridge that can do it. Yes, bone carbon can somewhat do it for some limited time, aluminum based cartridges can remove some, but then add... aluminum to your water, which is even worse.

If you REALLY want to get rid of fluoride, then your only reasonable choice is RO. And if you are considering RO, then look for the one with a built in pump. Most households have very low pressure, so RO without a pump will take ages to fill up a tank and will waste a lot of water.
