Thanks for your suggestion bro, Aquaphor? never heard of it before, check their website, they only have under counter filters which I need to drill a hole at my sink / tabletop which I prefer not to drill it.
Might to share why not cuckoo and LG instead ? As I see Cuckoo they have 6 stages of filtration and LG only has 4 stages  confused.gif
*
No. of stages are not what's important, what's important is what can be filtered out

LG uses ultra-filtration which filters out bacteria/viruses while retaining essential minerals in the water

QUOTE(Holyboy27 @ Jul 14 2024, 10:54 AM)
Was having a hard time finding the information. Is LG 516/518 AN reverse osmosis type filters? Or is only anti bacterial and some sediments?
*
LG uses ultra-filtration, not RO, so minerals are retained thumbup.gif

Yea, there's a lot of sales agent's website, the official LG website is here
https://www.lg.com/my/rent-up/water-purifiers

Also can get more info from the LG Puricare thread here

1. landed
2. 1 pax
3. No medical issues, just would like to have good drinking water
4. Yes I can do some my own diy filter replacement
5. Comfortable with 50/months installment.
6. Don't mind one time off purchase and changing own filters. But if installment comes with free servicing and changing filter and cost about the same. Then better do installment
7. House having a diamond external filter from previous owner. Also contemplating if I should change it.
8. I do make hot water daily every morning. Don't mind using thermal pot at all. Prefer save electricity.
*
Since u dun mind boiling water, i believe a simple sediment and carbon filter combo is both cheapest and adequate for u (should cost less than RM2k)

Unless u need instant hot/cold water, no need to get those Cuckoo, Coway, LG biggrin.gif

Also if the filters of the Diamond unit is not being replaced regularly, i suggest u stop using it immediately

Any recommendations of the sedimnet and carbon filter devices?

Instant hot / cold not necessary for me. Although instant hot sounds nice. Have never experienced that.

And yes the diamond outdoor unit has not been replaced. Are there technicians that do diamond filter servicing?
*
Imagine water heater installed inside the water purifier unit biggrin.gif

As to the Diamond filter, you need to contact Diamond for them to service it, but only if u intend to keep using it la

Did a quick check still can get diamond to service the filter. Will probably take out and wash the filter.

Direct drink would.be good. I'm using Panasonic cs10 now. Which I'm boiling.
*
To direct drink u need one that also filters out bacteria and viruses

Basically all big brands filter able to do so, difference is only in features of the machine (hot/cold water, auto sterilisation etc.) and pricing

ironcrowz dayalan86 I want to ask since I have been used around 6 dan 7 months, I never did that manual water outlet sterilisation (hot water flushing) Will there be any issue?
*
To ensure hygiene, it's highly recommended to do it once every 3 mths

Put a bowl there, press a button and takes bout 10mins to complete only, very easy biggrin.gif

1. landed or condo?  Condo
2. how many pax in your household?  5
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house?  No
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?). Yes
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth?  Depends
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k?  Depends
7. do you own external water filter yet?  LG Puricare
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water?  No
Bought subsale condo. Water hardness appear to be high. Looking for filter mainly for kitchen sinks (if can for whole unit including bathrooms would be a bonus)
Unable to install at mains riser as it is outside my unit.
Recommendations?

Hi there for question 7 u answered LG Puricare, but LG doesn't have any outdoor water filter

Do u mean u are looking at LG? If yes, can see this thread for more info biggrin.gif

I recently installed ioncares PVDF Membrane filter, for RM1699. This is the 6000l/hr type, if condo possibly can go for the smaller option which might be cheaper.

Reason I bought this as replacement for 3M AP902, is that the

i) filter membrane is hand washable (once a year)
ii) does not require backwash unlike all other membrane filters out there.
iii) Replacement Filter Cartridge is RM650 (approximately every 5-8 years average lifespan) vs 3M (approximately RM600 every 2 years)
iv) Compact Stainless Steel body, makes the overall installation look neat

This brand from where ya? How reliable or established are they?

Any recommendations for Water Filter for patient with kidney disease stage 3?

No expert on this, best consult ur doctor i think. I'd assume RO water is best? Since this way the water contains nothing else other than H2O, so it doesn't worsen the situation hmm.gif

guys need some opinion.. im currently using the big sand filter.. about 2 yrs in.. no problem so far

but recently saw there are now membrane filter, which is very small in footprint and claim can filter better than sand filter..

my question.. anyone who use membrane filter before?

really any good? hows the maintenance?

price about same.. RM1k with installation...

https://www.intactwater.com.my/outdoor-filter/
*
Depending on the type, membrane can filter out smaller particles, but both wouldn't let u skip boiling ur water tho

I'm using a JP200 filter in my kitchen
If I want to turn this JP200 into undersink, can it be done?
Or would it be better for me to just get a double housing filter with Sediment filter + Carbon filter?
Thanks!
*
Might be possible, but since it's not designed to be an undersink, might not perform as intended (the pipes from the filter outlet to the water tap on kitchen top can be contaminated over time)

Hi. Currently looking for table top type pou water filter.. Only knows aquasana, aquaphor, 3m. Dont know whether there is any other reputable brands.

Criteria:
1) reasonable cartridge replacement fee
2) can direct drink.. But dont need those hot and cold water function. Parents still boil water
3)can self diy replace catridge and easy to get the catridge

Any recommendations? Tq
*
If u do not need hot/cold water function, i think can go for undersink, table top type very limited choices

Hello sifus, I'm currently looking for water filter for my new landed house. Abit out of budget after reno, basically looking for low annual maintenance cost water PoE and PoU. Willing to spend abit more if quality ok + low maintenance in the long run.

1. landed or condo? Landed
2. how many pax in your household? 2 for now, will have kids in the future.
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? No
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) Yes, have all the tools.
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? Prefer 1 time off purchase.
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? Prefer 1 time off purchase.
7. do you own external water filter yet? No, any recommendation? And how do i know if i need one?
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? I will boil water, no need direct drink.

Thanks in advance!
*
If no need direct drink, undersink filters should meet ur needs while keeping costs low
