Anyone has experience with BACFREE Just Tap? I'm currently using LG Puricare but will be moving to new condo soon and would like to know if there are better alternatives other than LG Puricare.

Can I know how it fairs vs LG Puricare? From what I'm seeing, only the Just Tap Quadro offers hot & cold filtered water.

Seems like it's not tankless, comes with 2.4L tank each for hot and cold water

If their filter got any certification then feels more secured

1. landed or condo? Landed
2. how many pax in your household? 2
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? No
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) Yes
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? Prefer 1 time off purchase.
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? Prefer 1 time off purchase. No budget.
7. do you own external water filter yet? Yes a sediment filter externally
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? yes direct drinking. Prefer no need boil. Seldom use hot water, if needed will boil

Currently looking at 3M DWS2500. But I know nothing about filters so if there is better alternatives definitely want to consider.

Seeing u have minimal requirement, the 3M model should suit u fine biggrin.gif

I see.

Those rental based packages like LG, Cuckoo and Coway are quite interesting. Does it come with the filters when they come for servicing? I see the advertisement mentioned about free servicing and warranty during the rental period, but not about the price of filters.
*
Yup, for all these brands, usually the customer just pay the monthly subscription fee, filters and warranty during the contract period are fully covered

if u are asking bout filter price AFTER the contract, for LG it's RM320 per yr, not sure bout other brands

Please note that water filters are now subject to 5% SST. Our new shipment already got affected by it. So the prices will go up accordingly for most sellers, not something that can be avoided. Also, Shopee/Lazada are also raising their fees, but are compensating it with vouchers. Actually a weird move, cause they are now losing more money than what the collect from fees.
*
Yea even LG also raised prices cry.gif

Im now damn headache, since my water purifier contract will finish next month and coway hq came and contact me and i agree to continue the contract with a new machine. And just now the service crew come my house to change filter but he said should continue the contract with the service crew instead of hq. He said if any issue arise in the future he wont be responsible of it. He also said now a lot of scammers and can buy your info from coway, take your bank card number and subscribe a bunch of machines. Call back coway hq sales person and hq said they have some internal issue and some service crew member will threaten you so that you should continue the contract with the service crew instead of hq. On one hand the crew said "you never meet the hq person right? Continue the contract with me much safer since you can see me when i go your house service".

Like wtf? Now i dont even know who to believe, thinking of just cancelling both party and go with self service model.
*
Wow sounds like their service team (most likely outsourced) found their own supplier for the filters and decided to skip Coway itself ohmy.gif

I think can add 1 more point to this questionnaire

"Are u willing to boil water or prefer direct drink?"

Cuz if u don't mind boiling then waiting it cool, the budget can be much lower

Hi everyone, hope to get some advice from everyone here smile.gif
Previously I've been using some 10+ year old Amway filter. I think it works fine (we haven't died yet so lol) but we're running out of replacement filters and Amway don't sell it anymore.

1. landed or condo? - Landed - N. Sembilan
2. how many pax in your household? - 3-4 people
3. got senior / babies / people with disease like kidney failure for example in the house? Nope
4. can you able to do some small DIY installing yourself or not? (like replacement filter yourself?) Sure
5. how much u afford to installment per month for at least 5 years? 50/mth or 100/mth or 150/mth? Around RM50 ish a month for 7 years
6. or do u prefer 1-time off purchase? below 1k or 2k or 3k? If 1-time then maybe around RM2k ish, then filter replacement below RM500/year or lower
7. do you own external water filter yet? Yes, POE I believe
8. hot/water function is it a must for you? will you willing to fork out another RM50/mth electricity bill for the feature? or you just stick with thermal pot + fridge cold water? Not a must but would be nice. If too expensive or really not worth it, then I can still use my kettle and fridge anyways haha. Just checking them out for convenience

So far I've surveyed a few.
Normal ambient room temp water
1. 3M Aqua-Pure/C-Complete Under sink filter mineral water. - ~RM600 one time incl tap, then ~RM300 filter/year.
2. 3M FM1500-B Under sink filter mineral water - ~RM1500 one time incl tap, then ~RM500 filter/year but not sure if that's worth it or not compared to the cheaper model.
3. Coway Cinnamon RO water - RM28/month for 7 years incl service.
4. Amway eSpring - RM5000 one time + RM600 for filters (not gonna get this as it seems to be the biggest waste of money out of all of these)

With hot/cold feature
1. Coway Neon mineral water - RM48/month for 7 years self service or RM53/month for 7 years incl service.
2. Coway Neo Plus RO water - RM53/month for 7 years incl service.
3. Cuckoo King Top 2 - RM61/month for 7 years incl service.
4. LG Puricare - RM70/month for 7 years (most expensive service so maybe won't go for this)

I wonder if any of these would be a good choice or if anyone else has any other recommendations.
Thank you!

3M and LG are the only tankless model here, also provide self-service option which saves u a lot of hassles in future without needing to take leave attending to technician service

If no rush to install, can consider waiting LG future promo, might be able to get Rm60/mth

True, that and Coway Neon apparently is partially tankless (room temp water comes direct from tap)
LG has some promo now, 50% off for 9 months or something, but yeah the RM70 price is the highest for now.
Any chance you know when they might release new promo for it?
*
Current promo doesn't come with an end date, so we have no idea when the next promo will be announced

Whenever there's new promo, i will update at the LG Subscribe Official Thread https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5445954 biggrin.gif

I forgot to ask. For RO machines I've been told that it uses a lot more water than what's useable.
Does anyone know how much more would it cost for my electric and water bill if I were to take Coway Cinnamon.
I'm assuming it doesn't use much electric as there's no temp control, but slightly concerned on the water bill for it.
*
Hmm very hard to tell, it depends on ur water usage and tariff bracket

Water probably doesn't cost much (my 2 pax home water bill only Rm7/mth)

If ur current TNB bill bout Rm100 range, I'd GUESS Coway adds another Rm5~10 cuz even though it has a tank, there's no constant reboiling

Those using LG Water filter, anyone knows why even after I manually replaced the filter, the maintenance date on the apps is not updated?
*
Mine shows the date, just that need to select which filter was replaced

Can the LG Water Purifier Cartridge Filter be recycled? Just thinking of a way to dispose it responsibly instead of just throwing it away
*
LG doesn't have a recycling program, I'm also not sure if there's any 3rd party ones hmm.gif
