Culligan just single cartridge carbon block, so cannot filter bacteria also. Dont know how is the inside, never cut it open, could be similar to 3M AP easy complete. For jus a single cartridge filter = basic filter = best to boil.

Here is a sample of what is inside the filters. I also got shock, when i c carbon block size in AP easy complete.

From online research minimum you need a 0.2 micron filtration to filter bacteria. Based on online reviews and research the 3 popular brands

1) Aquaphor - Crystal Eco (RM 1500)
2) 3M - DWS 2500 (Estimated RM 2600-2900)
3) Amway - Espring (Estimated RM 3k+)

Prefilter can prolong the life of the main filter and also prevent clogging but need to clean regularly. However, due to the small amount of granular carbon in the filter, we wouldnt know how long it could last in filtering contaminants like chlorine, may b can only last 3 months or 4 months, we wouldnt know unless we get a chlorine tested to test, so best to boil.

Info explain in several of his videos
1) Tested RO membrane 0.0001 micron (80% chlorine just pass through it), so just one membrane filter alone is not good enough, must mix membrane and carbon block

2) The more the amount of carbon block, higher the capacity to filter chlorine. Some can last 4 months some 6 months, depending on the quality of the block.

3) Different area got different water problem, no1 will test what is in their water supply, so just buy the best filter to be safe.

Many of my customers actually upgraded to Aquaphor Crystal Eco as they are not happy with cleaning the ceramic filter and worry on the water quality.

Aquaphor DWM 101 is RO system (0.0001 micron) which i dont intend to sell in malaysia yet. Will need more testing.

Aquaphor Crystal Eco is my current best seller is not RO system and with 0.1 micron filtration, it will not filter off minerals but can filter bacteria.

Most customers prefer to get a slim modern design water dispenser and because of that there is limited space to install proper water filtration system in the water dispenser.

Why pay so much for a water dispenser with just a basic filter? You could opt to buy a good filter and then add a cheap water dispenser without filter as per photo for few hundred ringgit only

Now you could have one filter for two outlets
1) Dedicated Faucet for cooking and drinking
2) Water Dispenser for Hot water

I believe most of you who are using water dispenser find it troublesome to get high volume of water for cooking like soup and etc. We cant put the pot or big jug for it to fill up by itself under the water dispenser.
For cooking purpose, the dedicated filter tap is more convenient.

As per the photo it is granular carbon. From what i know carbon filters are best to change minimum once a year to maintain the efficiency of the filtration and also to prevent bacteria grow inside the filter. If it is 2013, overdue 3 years already, definitely it is not good already and possible lots of bacteria inside.

I am selling perfect steel for less than rm 2k, size is compact and easy to use. Filtration rate 5 micron as well

From what i know, Diamond current advertising on the natural media used in their filtration system. FYI popular filtration system like 3M, Amway and Aquaphor uses Carbon Block system which is made of coconut shell = natural media also.

Why Diamond require many cartridges because they are giving granular carbon block while better filter will give carbon block (compressed carbon). 1 cartridge of carbon block is better than 5 cartridge of granular carbon.

depending how good the quality you wanna get. For me, quality wise i will get either one of these

1) Aquaphor crystal eco (RM 1500)
2) 3M DWS 2500 (RM 2900)
3) AMWAY Espring (Estimated RM 3,800 need to ask amway seller for latest price)

Maintenance cost per year
1) RM 450
2) RM 900
3) RM 500 (also need to check with amway seller)

I am only selling 3M and Aquaphor, between these two if u ask me i will say get Aquaphor Crystal Eco

Usually install near to water meter, you have to check with condo management or plumber where to install it if cant install in meter room.
