Just changed the Aquaphor Crystal Eco cartridge in my shop today and this is how dirty it is . . .

Aquaphor water filters do not require electricity

Alphamax is OEM by perfect steel as mentioned in the forum, i guess most people wont read through all the pages. I think there are 2 - 3 discussion threads on water filter, need to read all is really a problem. If you dont have the time to read all of the info, can also drop by my shop for me to summarize the details.

Shop in kepong, will PM the details to you. For outdoor I am selling perfect steel (for landed) which is the same as Alphamax and also 3M AP902 (mainly for condo).

There are just too much info and it would be impossible to repost everything here, that is why i usually ask customers to drop by my shop.

Roughly went through the spec for alphamax in the website but i think their info is not accurate, already PM you the comparison and you can also cross check what i said is true or not by GOOGLING on it

Yes, Aquaphor got RO system as well with NSF certificate as this model is mainly market for USA. However, this model is not available in Malaysia yet as i wanna test the product for 1 year before marketing it in Malaysia. Currently using it in my house. If you are interested, i could import it for you as well.

The waste is trapped in the cartridge. A good carbon block filter system will be able to filter coke. Previously i tested Aquaphor Eco with rust water as i think it is more relevant. If an Aquaphor Pitcher can filter COKE, Aquaphor Crystal Eco can definitely do the job as well.

Seems like the water is crystal clear now with the Aquaphor Eco water filter

I bliv you will need to replace the sand also, just pour out the sand and water, then transport to new house, then put in new sand.



Many customers asked about Aquaphor Crystal Eco flow rate since it is 0.1micron, how would it affect the water pressure. As different area has different water pressure and it will affect the filter's flow rate as well, here is a video to show how good is the flow rate.

Aquaphor Crystal Eco can be installed under or above counter. Sometimes it seems impossible to install undersink but it could also be done if there is a stopvalve or you are willing to hack a little. For condo, best to retain the stopvalve and hack above the stopvalve for an extra water outlet for the filter. For landed properties, you can remove the stopvalve and control the water from your water meter in case of any maintenance.

Too many brands in the market, you will need to survey a little to get to know which type is suitable for you. Based on my survey currently Aquaphor is the most value for money @ RM 1500 only.

Aquaphor Crystal Eco @ RM 1500
3M DWS2500 @ RM 2800
Amway Espring 3.5k - 4k (i guess)
Coway monthly plan or RM 3.5k - 4k
Kangen RM 12k
Panasonic Alkaline machine RM 3k+
Nesh, Diamond and many more of the direct sales filter cost RM 3k+

All of these filters are different and have their own selling points, so you will need to do some research and determine which type is best for you.

Aquaphor Morion = RO system, i am using it in my house, dont plan to market it yet until i test it for 1 full year. If you wanna have it, i can import it for u. Just PM me

Yes one set, it does not have indicator. Capacity is 8000L or 1 year. For normal household usage is only 3000L, so this filter can last you one year. Just change it once a year. All the indicators will alarm when it reaches capacity or 1 year, not based on water quality, so not accurate also

Cant find the product xiaomi malaysia website but saw people selling in lelong for RM 1.2k. So i guess, you cant claim warranty and replacement cartridges would be difficult to get unless you import it from china.

It requires electricity as it uses a pump to boost water pressure as RO system reduces water pressure a lot. Aquaphor Morion on the other hand does not require electricity as it is using a special tank design (using incoming water pressure to force filtered water out)

Xiaomi filter does not have remineralization cartridge while Aquaphor Morion has. If you wan to know more about risk of drinking demineralized water (RO system without remineralization), you can read up here and there are some other links such as WHO report here

One of the reason i am still a little reluctant to sell Morion in Malaysia is because as per the user manual recommendation, we will need to replace the prefilters regularly (3 - 6 months) to prevent RO membrane from clogging, this will definitely increase the maintenance cost of the system. Therefore, i plan to use 1 full year first to test on the performance and clogging issue before i market it in malaysia.

First Question
Yes, carbon block filtration effectiveness deteriorate over time once it is activated in water, all brands with carbon blocks will advise customers to replace once a year to maintain the high quality filtration.


Second Question

Quite impossible to use over 8000L per year unless you are running a business. Les do some estimation

Drinking Water : 2L per day (as per google) - we wont drink 2L of water only from our home, we will drink in office or restaurant. So, actual amount of water we consume from home is only 1L or lesser if we dont bring our own water to work.

Cooking : Not more than 5L (as measured by my RO machine capacity)

Assuming we cook everyday and we only drink filter water for a family of 5 ppl.

Calculation :

Drinking : 5 ppl x 2L x 365 = 3650L
Cooking : 5L x 356 = 1825L

Total : 3650L + 1825L = 5,475L (this is the max)


On average, usage per family is around 3,000L. As 3M DWS1000 has a water meter indicator (auto shut off water supply once reach 2,365L), customers have to replace the cartridge. Most customers will purchase it around 10 months to 13 months. From asking my customers, i could safely estimate max usage per year is around 3000L

Use 1 year, if the filter clogged up before 1 year = too much sediment for the filter and then only buy the ceramic pre-filter. We are giving 1 year warranty for Crystal Solo and Eco against clogging but if really clog need to buy prefilter. Upto date, no1 ever claim warranty yet
