This Macross kit is essentially a Master Grade kit despite not saying master grade.
The main component of a master grade kit is the inner frame and since the VF25 has one, it qualifies.
As for the quality of plastic, contrary to popular belief, all their Made in Japan kit are made with the same plastic quality.
The differences between grades have more to do with detail, accuracy, articulation, gimmicks, design, than the quality of the materials.
In fact, Bandai has been improving their other non master grade gundam so much that the recent Gundam 00 'non-grade' kit are so good overall that they are essentially master grade level minus the inner frame.
At one point I have more than 10++ Master Grade kit so I am indeed quite familiar with them.

QUOTE(khaiboon @ Jan 6 2009, 01:22 AM) Yup... model kits really not for play but more on display. Macross Frontier kits really fragile. But what I like about the kit for Macross Frontier is it's scale accuracy compare with DX (although I don't have DX version). At least custom kit Ozma has neck but Chogokin Ozma doesn't... haha. So bad that kit version for Bandai doesn't comes with any Grade on it. If it's MG series like Gundam, I guess it's plastic quality n joint will be better. This is what I think because I owned two MG series of Gundam Anyhow... overall, this Bandai Kit is quite good. I am hoping that I can own an DX version as well, but will see how in the short coming future. Maybe I will aim for DX Ozma (although it has no neck ) because I'm putting high hope on Ozma full armor DX VF-25S do have neck.... like the 1/72 version... it's not that visible compare to Vf-25F....

nice job artakus01 and khaiboon . may i knw what type of sticker you used? was it water decal? for my kit, i still havnt apply any yet. if let say if i use water decal. after sticked and it dried up, can i still put water on top and slowly peel it off to adjust/re-apply again? i must admit that model kit 1/72 is very very fragile. i have tried posing him on gerwalk, but the knee joints seem not strong enough to support the upper body. i think is better get a stand.

I wouldn't try to reapply the water decals if I were you. Once they conform to the kit they kinda become like a membrane, especially if you use decal solution. Chances are they will break. I don't seem to have a weak knee joint problem. I've only preassembled mine but in gerwalk mode I can pose it standing up. I did already cement the inner frame tho so it may be tighter, hence holds on better. Mine's now disassembled again and waiting for priming etc. Can't wait to finish it with decals and all. Amazing looking kit.

QUOTE(chobo @ Jan 6 2009, 11:36 AM) bro, ur alto looks superb! how'd u manage to make the hands a black/silver ver.? noticed that minimal lining on ur Alto-san.. or is it a DX?

I dare not try to put water decal on it. Since I'm not expert in kits yet. Normal sticker gives very good decal as well... just that it will fall off. Fragile... my Alto's head will fall off when transforming to Battroid mode as well But not a big deal for it.

well if want to clear things off you should need to do some research. you can start reading some of the forum thread here and analysis then you at least get the idea what everyone wants. beside you can post this SD type musa at SD thread so they migh interested. anyway this is OT already.

Cement just means gluing the model. If you really want the model to look good, paint it, or at least top coat it. Flat coat will make an unpainted figure look much better then just OOB (out of box). Best place to ask is in the mecha modelling WIP thread, lots of pros there.

Amazing looking kit. is a lot better now after i dismantled and assembled the knee area . i started using water decal already. actually is not that hard once you have try it. just dip the decal in water for 3-second, then use cotton bud to move it at the specific area. needless to worry about decal will tear in pieces because once it has water, it is quite easy for you to move around
