Awesome collection bro! notworthy.gif

on an unrelated but almost related note, i've finally gotten this from Robotech.com (took exactly 5 days smile.gif )
hehe..
Lancer's VFA-6I Alpha Fighter (1/55)

The contents include some kinda of transparency/cel with Lancer Belmont (a.k.a. Yellow Dancer) image on it..

Alpha Fighter: VFA-6I at 1/55 scale

Battloid (sic) mode

Comparison: VFA-6I Alpha (at 1/55 scale) with Robotech-predecessor 1/60 VF-1S
user posted image

Impressions:
PROS:
1. Good mold.
2. Hefty and pretty heavy due to die-cast content.
3. Looks good in all 3 modes; fighter, guardian and battloid.

CONS:
1. A little of uneven paint application.
2. Rear landing gears too weak to support the heavy fighter; tend to collapse back into the gear bays.
3. Some joints are kinda fragile-feeling; nothing broke, but they don't feel solid.
4. Articulated hands are made of some kind of soft rubber; nothing broke, but feels like they should be handled carefully.
5. Pilot figure's head is turned noticeably to one side.
6. As with any die-cast toys, paint chips are inevitable.

Compared to other Alpha/Legioss toys in the current market, Toynami's offering is average. Aoshima's Legioss was based on the Toynami mold, and apart from the additional missile bay, has the same and probably worse problems than Toynami's. CM's Legioss is ridiculously priced and although it is the best mold in terms of durability, it is sadly very anime-inaccurate (especially the very obvious chest air intakes).. Not to mention the Tread (Beta fighter) for CM is poorly connected to the Legioss..

Toynami's Beta fighter has very glowing review though smile.gif and i just HAVE to get this Alpha so that i can order the green Beta soon smile.gif

ok, back to Macross! tongue.gif

Yupe i think so smile.gif ..from what i've read, Toynami's Cyclone will be:
1. Just like the upcoming Beagle version (except marketed in the U.S, slightly cheaper, and boxed in the Masterpiece box)
2. at 1/10 scale (good scale to put on the shelf with my other bikes: FF PlayArts Fenrir and Daytona, and the Bandai Batpod tongue.gif )
3. Miles better than the CM or MegaHouse versions.

from what's on the news so far, the Beagle version is going to be more expensive than that; it will be sold under the Mospaeda brand.. Toynami's Robotech repackaged version would about RM 706 (USD 199.99 at Robotech.com online store) shocking.gif

expensive like heck! probably will only have enough money to get it next year if i start to save now sad.gif

Added on January 10, 2009, 12:26 amAfter applying the stickers, the Alpha look so much better..

Again with the VF-1S.. the Alpha is supposed to be 10.25 meters in the show, much much shorter than the VF-1S
user posted image

comparison with Yamato's 1/60
user posted image

btw, there seems to be no news of licensing for the Macross Frontier movie as yet; most assume Bandai would still be carrying the license.. i still hope beyond hope Yamato would get it; at least then you'd have two companies to choose from smile.gif

checked,
http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN955525
4500 yen.

Live rates at 2008.12.16 13:50:12 UTC
Japan Yen  Malaysia Ringgits
1 JPY = 0.0396046 MYR    1 MYR = 25.2496 JPY
Live rates at 2008.12.16 13:52:12 UTC
1.00 USD=3.55751 MYR
4,500.00 JPY=178.221 MYR
49.66 USD=176.680 MYR

then the price should not be RM220 now. seems like this item very popular, they increase the price.

checked some others item (mospeada) , but
read one, 6000 yen , but MYR 258
black one, 7000 yen , also MYR 258
although japanese price same, but RM price not same.
