Of course it is allowed. When you are registering for the number to be ported out, you have to select whether you want the new old number to be a prepaid or postpaid number. If its postpaid, you have to choose the plan and you can tell them to make it into a supplementary line of your DiGi's main line.

The activation process would have to be completed within 1 to 5 business days. Nope, I don't think you can use the sim card when the porting process has started and until the number is successfully ported over.

It would be better for you to sell the credits away and then only opt for porting. Else, they will just forfeit your credits. Why not port slightly later or when the credit is lower?
I will follow you~  LOL.

For the bolded part, i think we can still use the old sim card while the porting process in in progress until you see the message "Sim Card Registration Failed".
Then you can change to your new sim card. smile.gif

yesterday i go to carefour seberang jaya in peanang and saw 1 celcom booth for postpaid registration and i ask them regarding the MNP and how much i need to play, the seller told me that its free because they promote MNP bla bla bla anything,

i know about it and just hear what he told me, then after that register and get my sim card, he also told me that 1 to 5 days after that, when my maxis sim card failed to use, can use the celcom sim card with same number,

So if anyone who staying in seberang jaya penang maybe can change it for free there( since i got it free, and not sure other place also free or not ).

if anyone interested to change to celcom can reach him by this number.

firdaus:
019-4050501 or
017-4777535

he is the sale person working at that booth.

i'm doing this is not because i get profit or etc, i doing it because i port it for free, lat week i ask at queensbay mall in penang island and they want to charge me rm50 for porting and 1 need to wait 1 month..i know they take profit for it thats why i don't do it there.

but i heard a lot of people like to port to digi but the choice is your, i don't want to change to digi because around my hometown, digi don't have strong signal unlike celcom, and....maxis sux... doh.gif

I would wait for the service to allow credit transfer from telcos to telcos
Then only change

i read the STAR newspaper today..

found celcom ads (full page), them promoting MNP, they said 012/014/016/017 is now Celcom lol..

but, on the next two pages, found DiGi ads (half page).. also about MNP. they said, forget about non-FLAT rates, deposit, fee for fav numbers, helpline charges, etc.. and want people to switch to digi..

seem like the MNP war has begin.. haha

Unlikely ... as countries which already have MNP for years never had this service. You can continue to wait if you want for something highly unlikely to happen.

very unlikely to happen, becoz each telco is a different company.. you bought a credit (paid the money) to telco A, now you want telco A transfer that money to telco B (which is their competitor).. do u think telco A willing to do it? i dont think so, unless they allowed to take a very high service charge for transfering the money/credit.

But I'm hesitating in plan pick. With hotlink my average usage is about 40 and constantly, I've considered DG50, but it will cost rm10 more in every month. Is Prepaid or DG20 the best?

I think DG 20 actually charge you RM20 monthly +add on your usage charge. I may be wrong here. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
So it's best to choose prepaid.

ya u are right!the rm20 is only for line rental, not commitment fee...this plan is only suit for people who very seldom make calls.

if u change to DG50, although u paying extra rm10, but u able to make much more calls compared with hotlink!! and flat rates on every services call/sms/mms

the funny thing is, my company recently changed to Value Plus 50 plan already, tht so called maxis guy definately is not from Maxis itself, but maybe agents.

Thank you for your advise. Funny thing, the moment I'd posted the last reply, I received a hotlink message which informs me that "Effective 15 Nov 08, Maxis wants to reward you free maxis to maxis calls on your birthday. register your birth date with us now. Send BDAY to 227702 by 17 Oct 2008". I already registered my number 2 or 3 years ago. rclxub.gif

Maxis never give me anything on my birthday, as far as I remember. Not even once throughout my five years "stint" with Hotlink. If it was Digi, I would have gotten 50% extra airtime every single year. Maxis sometimes just take their customers for granted where as Digi has captured the heart of many younger generation phone users.

Yes, and better still, you have 11 Friends and Family. That should pretty much cover all your most frequently dialed numbers, no? You are going to save even more. You should considering of making the switch to Digi when you start noticing that you are calling more Digi's number than before. My phone used to be 012/017 as a majority and these days, its like 6:4 and with MNP going nationwide, I foresee the numbers managed by Digi will increase and probably take over the Maxis' ratio.

The next time I see my friends, I have to ask them, your number belongs to Digi, Celcom or Maxis? Haha.
