Looking forward for the implementation of MNP. It's about time they make it more competitive for the telcos.

Not happy with my current provider .... just want to move my number out to another network provider. Don't want to give business to someone who cannot deliver. That's People Power !

Anyone here has converted to Celcom? The earlier posted mentioned most operators did not collect the porting fees but no mention about Celcom.
Can anyone confirm this ? |

Just completed porting over 1 postpaid UMobile number to Celcom. Done in over 24 hours. Got 1 more postpaid UMobile still pending the porting process.

QUOTE(unknowndevices @ Sep 17 2008, 01:23 AM) does that mean...to port-in and out everything can be done within 24hours?...thought it takes a couple of days... The official lead processing time as stated by the MCMC is 5 working days. So I think it is all purely luck at this stage bear in mind that only 100 applications get processed every day and the line that gets ported over has no problems.anyway...that would be better... |

I forsee Maxis losing a lot of customers soon and they cannot do anything about it. Even the free gift & promos are useless because everyone wants better service and they are at the bottom of the list when it comes to service.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 21 2008, 05:27 PM) i only hear ppl keep saying they port to digi. Good lah Maxis losing all their customers. All these years I've been putting up with their bad service and I would have ran away if not I like my Maxis number. Don't care whether Maxis customers goto Celcom or Digi but so long they get out of Maxis ... I'm in full support for those who did so. Dont tell me this the beginning and the last for maxis? Emm ... my Maxis port out is still pending ... Day 5 already ... sigh. |

I transferred multiple numbers to Celcom but only 1 number was processed within 2 days while the remaining remain in queue. I checked with Celcom and they told me that mine was still in the waiting list. (After 5 working days) Anyone here with the same experience having delays while porting multiple numbers to a single provider ?

QUOTE(Archer123 @ Sep 26 2008, 10:09 AM) Its possible that your account details are not accurate, eg. old ic number and new ic number used creating a mismatch between the 2 telcos info Not really. I also have this problem right now ... apparently since they open the porting to Postpaid users, the numbers of daily applications jumped to beyond that 100 per day limit. My porting has been due for like 10 days and when I checked ... application has not been rejected, just that still in the queue for processing. |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 30 2008, 09:30 AM) Oh yes. Maxis competing telcos told me this. Basically most people moving out of Celcom or Digi and into another telco but Maxis. Maxis probably has more output than input. I'm happy on this news as I have been unhappy with Maxis for years and all this while they can get away with such poor customer service. Now with MNP, consumers who are unhappy with Maxis will just take their 012/017 number and run away! |

I think come 15th Oct, the telcos are going to be busy clearing off those backlogs porting application. I still have a few numbers in the "porting queue" since the postpaid porting opened.
Aha ... then the next few months or so, it will be interesting to see which telco is now in the pole position in terms of subscribers. I read up somewhere before that countries having done MNP will expect subscribers to move between telcos within the next 12 months before the trend stablising. Expect to see telcos improving their services within the next 12 months or so ... especially those "bleeding" their customers away to their competitiors. Well ... my statement above is non-telco bias. It's a fair game to all now. This post has been edited by hye: Oct 1 2008, 04:36 PM |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 30 2008, 06:57 PM) Since Maxis pulled out from the stock market now they are private they dont care who port where and where? What it means by taking a company private is that the company is no longer listed in the KLSE stock exchange but it doesn't mean that the company does not have to satisfy its investors. Today, Maxis is still not wholely owned by one single individual/entity. Don't get the "private" thing wrong my friend.Among other entities in Malaysia which is not listed (private) is also Celcom, Shell, etc but does that means that the company is not doing well ? Maxis might be in trouble today for its inability to provide good customer support all these years. Customers loves the brand and their nice Maxis number but since they now have a choice ... they want to move away to someone else who provides better CS/pricing. Try applying the same principle to our automotive industry and you'll be able to imagine it. |

QUOTE(choonkeong @ Oct 3 2008, 02:56 PM) Celcom, Shell not listed? Celcom delisted and then relisted under TMI, and Shell listed long long ago. TMI is not Celcom .. it is TM's international operations listed entity. Celcom is now a private entity.Maxis was delisted after buy-back by Ananda Krishnan. Shell Refining Co is the listed entity in the KLSE but not the holding company itself which is Shell. (If I'm not mistaken) Yes ... Maxis used to be listed but now it is not. Added on October 3, 2008, 7:39 pm QUOTE(jasonlioh @ Oct 3 2008, 01:19 PM) Well ... all of Maxis competitors stand to gain from Maxis poor handling of its customer base. And this is not limited to just Digi .... it's anyone game now to attract the various customer segments into their telco. This post has been edited by hye: Oct 3 2008, 07:40 PM |

QUOTE(lkylyk @ Oct 7 2008, 11:24 AM) The 100 limit is still there till the nationwide launch. The fact that PortIn's are being approved during the weekends meaning that they are working on a daily basis during to the high demand. Even mine was approved on a Saturday during the Raya break and some of the forummers reported the same occurances. |

Dream on ! We are not like SG where the market is so competitive and small and don't forget the free H/P comes with 12/24 months contract and you need to subscribe to call packages.
