Enjoying the game so far...myself and my bro played many hours so far we haven't had any noticeable texture problem, perhaps finding a needle in a haystack?

Content wise it is subjective to people, do we want to have "full" game like FF15 which at the end we know they couldn't manage on time to pack all stories and feature but release as DLC.. Or have more polished episodes game to include what was original planned? The producer have talk about the decision in one of their interview video and the failure on FF15 to achieve what was initially planned.

no both FFXV and FFVII remake are just typical of current Square Enix

only playable until Midgar pffft

where's muh Cid?
muh Vincent?

FF nowadays are just shallow AAA 'JRPG' (can we even call that?) relying hard on muh grafixx alone

having more fun right now with Ni no Kuni II - similar gameplay but a complete enjoyable experience

as for 100% play log, you need to play some chapter multiple time to get

People complained about paying USD60 because they already knew the story/plot from the original FF7.

However, just looking at how polished the gameplay, graphics, etc (especially for long time fans of FF7), I believe it's worth the USD60

God of War 4 also launched at USD60. But, you don't see people complained even though both games have similar issues. For eg, people are complaining about the slow moving, tight space part in FF7 Remake - which is a way for assets to be loaded. GoW also similar where they use all those mini puzzle, stairs climbing etc as 'hidden loading screen' to load the next scene

agreed.

Well, in the end, it depends on the market anyway. If SE wants to make episodic game and players still continue to buy it (for whatever reason it may be), then what to stop them hahaha

And the full story is out since 1997 biggrin.gif So can I say that ppl are NOT looking forward to the story, but they are looking forward to what are the new things/angle that SE is going to add in?

Also can I say, it's equally sweet to play it now, and then replay it again with PS5 when the higher-end console is out? rolleyes.gif

It's more of a FF7-2 than FF7 remake IMO.
But of course, "remake" is used to sell more copies.

Bought and played the game anyway despite some people said this game wasnt a full game. The story may not full, but the content and the gamplay seems full to me. For those who didnt buy the game due to having thought that this isnt incomplete game, you have right to say I got cheated by Square for their so called "semi finished FF7 game" and would wait for all the episode to released. As for me, I am sarisfied for what Square has fleshed and reimagine the setting of FF7 in the Remake.

As for time travelling stuff. I am okay with the appriach since it was done in FF game before (hello there Ultimecia's Time Compression from FFVIII and Lightning a goddess that travelled thru time in XIII-2 and XIII-3). Fact is, what most important to me is, this game is replayable since a lot of playthrough and route we can go just like dating sims i.e in order to trigger certain scene, need to select this or that answer from the response dialogue.

Considered FF7 Remake as "Rebuild of Evangelion", FF7 version. Some fans wanted Shinji end up with Rei while original TV series fans wanted Shinji stick with Asuka. But I hope they change Nomura as a director with someone else (say, rehiring back Hinorrovu just for once?) since Nomura kinda "Ryan Johnson"-ing the FF7R.

Yea, I completed the game.

Maybe my take is different. I think Square Enix is just setting up the narrative so that they could change some plot/elements in later Part 2 or 3 of the remake. To make things more plausible or acceptable in today standard.

As someone who played ff7 game more than 20 years ago, then watched ff7 advent children and played FF 7 Crisis Core (and 100% it if there's such thing), i think the new remake so far (i'm until chapter 14) is a nice story rpg.

For sure i will remember now what happened to the avalanche members (i cant 20 years ago), and other subplots and despite the linearity (even ff7 original was linear prior to the open world post-midgar - and even then its still somewhat linear as it just offer the illusion of walking around a green patch of grass), it's worth the RM 200+ ringgit to pay for day one one of this game (like watching 10-15 movies).

My only concern now is with the other Episodes coming up, will we get to bring our higher level characters for the ride as we are investing so much in them. If it does (my minimum expectation is level and majority of materia remains the same), then all the more for Part 2 & 3. If its gonna be like FF13 style of parts 2 & 3, then may think twice for day one purchase.

My thoughts so far:

1. Money well spent. The game is beautiful (well...some weird low res background aside, wtf is that view from the pillar lol) and the characters are really beautiful. Played the original decade ago and it feels so wonderful to see everything in highly detailed manner.

2. Flow is pretty good, at least part 1 has a beginning, middle and end that makes sense. Though there are some parts that feel like padding (side quests, long dungeon crawling), but they still feel ok and not annoying, yet.

3. I quite enjoy the system though it is difficult to me as I play it like action game and target switching can be very jarring to me. Enemies especially bosses have very high HP which can be too grindy. Sometimes it feel the screen has too many things going on at once, making it difficult to monitor HP and MP etc.

I think I am 70% now, for now I think it's definitely worth it.

Some points to add also is they added quite a lot of tributes to the original FF7, subtly and not. For e.g.,

1. The VR simulation and Wall Market colosseum is a tribute to Gold Saucer
2. Optional scene involving Tifa, Aerith, and Barret depending on ur decision in the game (akin dating in original FF7)
3. The VR theatre in Shinra building is just like Bugenhagen machine in Cosmo Canyon
4. Kyrie as the joke version of Yuffie
5. Some of the joke monsters in FF7 OG has been re-created in Remake as miniboss
