Yeah, usually they aren't very big(young) so its easy to fry and bite on.  Think of it like erm... really crunchy... chicken?  Hahhahaa, although chicken prolly might not be the right taste for it.  I suggest trying without the chili 1st then the chili after.

If you can find it, try the snake blood too.

Yeah. Hahaha yeah, it does not taste like chicken (although a lotta whitemeat does). The ones I had didn't stink. Snake blood is supposedly very healthy though. And well, if all I do is share the experience, then people would feel like they don't need to actually try it no? tongue.gif Just go and try only la, for fun anyway, not like you will die eating it.

Try it on its own without any sauce/etc to see how it tastes like. If you mix it with a sauce or something then you wouldn't raelly know how it actually tastes like right? Might as well drink the chili sauce tongue.gif

Oh, there are cockroaches too and err some other bugs. Just eat only and don't think so much, it'll be over before you know it laugh.gif

I traveled in India for 4 years. I think the pollution and the crazy tuk-tuk is quite similar. So I think I will survive hahaha! But thanks for the reminder. And Cabbage & Condom, just read about it in a magazine. I think I won't go anyway coz mom's with me tongue.gif Anyway don't need condoms for me... laugh.gif

My friend was in Bangkok during the red shirts riot but when I asked him, he said "Didn't even hear about it..."

That friend who lives in Bangkok said he stayed there before and it's ok.

laugh.gif Yeah sounds funny. But I read that it's owned by some organization for safe sex education, something like that, that's why when you leave the restaurant they give you free condoms. And the money from the restaurant goes to educating the locals about safe sex...since it's a big industry there. I think it's good.

haha. yeah its a government initiative i think. so when you go in they advertise condoms. and safe sex and all that. and when you finish eating they give you free condoms. but the food there is kinda crap and kinda expensive. but its interesting to go and look around. got a small souvenier shop i think. not sure about that.

heres a pic i took when i went. this is at the entrance. hehe.

i hadnt done it. but i dont think it will be difficult at all.
find a cheap hotel. cheap food is everywhere. BTS & Motocyke is cheap.

the main costs would be hotel, food and transport. all which i think can be covered with RM300. but i dont think you can do any tours or shows or stuff like that. and also how many days you going for depends.

well i agree that the food of Cabbage n Condom is nothing fantastic, but its not that bad as well for me. u can go take a look if got time. biggrin.gif its near the Sukhumvit BTS, n most probably u can see the signboard of it by the main road.

they got Condom-Man there ! biggrin.gif

also there is a restaurant named Yum Saap which is not bad IMO. if u wan to eat something not that expensive n scare of trying the street side hawker can consider this. there's 1 opposite of MBK by the main road.

Oooh yum saap looks delicious! Sounds funny though laugh.gif Flying off today. I'll be staying in Citin Pratunam. It's a new hotel. I heard because it's new and that area is crowded with stalls, it might be a bit difficult for taxi drivers to go there. Hope all turns out good because by the time I reach Bangkok/hotel it's dark I suppose. Will try to connect internet from hotel. They give free wifi. Yay!

Just thought of something...does anyone know if I can change 1000 THB to smaller denominations at KLIA(where?) or Suvarnabhumi Airport(also where?)? The money changer didn't wanna give me smaller notes(or don't have). I've also posted this same question in the currency exchange thread...

really they dont change it? well in malaysia usually its because they dont have much change. you should be able to change the denominations in suvarnabhumi. if not. try ask around at the shops. usually they will give because they know taxi's and all usually wont have that much change. also if you taking cab to the city. make sure you have around 60 baht because they will ask you to pay the toll. if they take that road that is. 2 tolls. one is 40 and one is 20 i think .

Gee thanks that's great to know about the tolls!

no problem. usually you have to tell them to take the toll way. i always do just in case. sometimes they take the normal road. takes FOREVER!

your hotel in the main city right? hahaha. afterwards you tell him to take the toll he takes you somewhere opposite to where you going. doh.gif hahahah. just checking. thumbup.gif

i forgot where the taxi's were at suvarnabhumi. i remember not taking the ones on the floor you the arrival gate is. because it was more expensive. i always went down a floor or two then there is another taxi stand. but im not sure. anyone else can confirm this?

Toll is 40 and 25 Baht.

Getting cabs on the counter is a lil more expensive but would be a heck of a lot easier. If you manually get a cab yourself, then it would only just go according to the meter.

Or be like me, just get the airport bus for only 150 baht. Only worth it if you only have 1-2 of you though.
