need to calculate if 2 car is better or 1 7 seater better. Petrol and ETC cost.
I will be driving for max of 6 days.

If i rent 2 car, i wonder if its ok to rent those 660cc 1. or perhaps something bigger to accommodate luggage.

Thanks for you input~  notworthy.gif

Okuhida | Takayama | Gifu...very beautiful mountain on this area. Went on 23rd November 2015 . Only 3 Celsius on the top of last Gondola station.

Autumn Season recommended on early October or Mid of October.

Winter Season recommended on End of December until March.

Plus bicycle cannot simply park on road side. Have to park specified cycle park area which have to cost 200 to 300 yen per hour.
Bus still best option.

cycling is the best way to visit kyoto
if you not good in cycling, remember to take electric bicycle, kyoto got a lot of hills
my previous bicycle route for 2 days - to see sakura

areankim do remember that 7 seater mpv's have very very minimal boot space if you have 7 people. For me unless you pack super light you won't have place to store your luggage.

Japan love hotel not cheap sweat.gif

the problem is, I'm going for 2 weeks. If I take the 7 days pass, maybe it's not enough.  sad.gif

If say 4D Tokyo, 1D Nikko, 3D Osaka, 3D Kyoto, 1D Nara, and left over to other cities, then it feels like I need a 14D pass.  hmm.gif
*
do you ever consider going one region first, then next time go for another region?
like focus on kansai, then next time go for kanto

QUOTE(cappuccino vs latte @ Nov 30 2015, 11:26 PM)
beside taking buses, how about train riding? are the stations near to most of the tourist areas?
*
you have to combine train, metro and bus

Hi wanna ask any bonsai lover here.

Wanted to add on my itinerary next year to Kinashi bonsai town in Takamatsu on Shikoku island for their bonsai and pot. Anyone experience before on the purchase of bonsai miniature(shohin) or pot? The price and ways to package and bring back.

Many thanks

the advantage for self tour,
u can save alot of $$$, especially traveling in group
and
u can hv all the time u need on one particular place which i really enjoy

eg:
selftour... u can hike Mount Kurodake all the way to the peak
compared to tours guide, they limit u to second ropeway @Kurodake Ropeway sweat.gif sweat.gif

ps: copy and paste the tour agency itinerary, win2... half effort completed

If you compare love hotel with 5 star hotel, yes love hotel is cheaper
but if you compare with business hotel(2~3 star), no love hotel is more expensive, unless you stay for few hours only

I'm also eager to visit Kyoto and Osaka.

maybe I should fly to Osaka instead. Maybe it's cheaper to fly?

Apart from Kansai and Tokyo, where else? Maybe cheaper to fly to Osaka and take 1 way shinkansen ticket to Tokyo.
