Panasonic aircond certain models still use R22 gas right? I went to an aircond shop today and the uncle told me ME and Panasonic using R410 gas. He recommended me Sharp which he says is better than Daikin. I don't really favour both. I surveyed Panasonic aircond at their website - model CS-KC9QKH (1hp) and CS-KC12QKH (1.5hp) - the specs didn't mention anything about their refrigerant is R410. I saw others models got stated the gas type in the specs but not these 2.

Is this confirmed that the 2 models that I want are using R22 gas? I cannot install inverter as the piping doesn't support it. Don't know why new condo development still using the old piping when R22 is slowly phasing out.

Onking near my place carries Toshiba a/c. Not too sure whether they are same as Carrier or maybe even contract manufactured by others.

Carrier don't focus much on residential in Malaysia, you still can get it but from the authorised installer. They are more focus in commercial and industrial. Carrier hold lots of pattern and technology in HVAC they are one of the industrial leader.

Their home unit will not be cheap.

Don't listen to some smart alek say is no more.

If they can give you good price, why not?

If the price are similar to panasonic, and other brand use common brand easier for spare parts if need repair.

Don't really follow AC industry news, I just got update from my friend who are in HVAC business

There are many brand consumer think are "cold" but actually very common and strong in many segment.

There is still many brand AC we never see before. Specially western country. Some are strong in certain sector.

Some AC type we think is old and no more, but actually is still popular in certain country. And produce by famous brand. Like window type AC.

Sometime we think we know a lot, but actually not.

Toshiba & carrier are the same company only in Asean right (this apply to western also?)? Just curios, you mean that in Singapore they totally phase out carrier brand (including commercial & industrial)?

Actually I prefer Daikin, but right now in Malaysia most of the unit will be York model not the original Daikin technology. That why plan to get other brand like Mitsubishi Heavy Industry but also kind of hard to get it in Malaysia (only can find Mitsubishi Electric).

Toshiba M'sia like home Aircon already long time ago never push thier products anymore, from what I knew they have Daiseikei comes 7 layers of filter, but also hard to find their outlet, now even phase out of multi split unit in sg markets, that meant thier sells really drop a lots.

MHI good for budget value
ME more higher price of you wanted the high quality
Pana will be ok, if more concern on budget of future parts
York = Daikin actually is the most realiable brand & cheaper parts, also the most cooler than others Japanese brand here from what I list.

Carrier bought some share from Toshiba. Form somekind of global join venture relationship. Last time carrier was selling Toshiba AC and their own brand carrier ac. Now Toshiba single split go back
to Toshiba electric. Carrier only selling multi split and vrf. All Toshiba ac are made in Thailand. Carrier ac are made in China. The quality should be more or less like York.
Carrier dealer here. My house still have 2 nos. 15 years old carrier ac running strong here but that time was made in Thailand.
there are many ac installer talking bull shit out there just because there get selling incentive for certain brand then they said that brand is good and bash others brand.
AC good or not mostly due to the installer.
my previous project install thousands of Daikin. Current one will be thousands of MHI. Another one is carrier also ME. Never have problem. BTW we are mostly deal with developer.
