Bible Devotion with UWGod, a Mighty Fortress!QUOTE
2 Samuel 22:3 (NIV) - my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior-- from violent people you save me.Â
In this ever increasing crazy world, the evil of Man can at times oppress and depress others. When we look at the violence and evil inclination of the heart of Man, we find no comfort that this is a safe world. Not for our children, not for our family.
The bible says the work of Satan is to Kill, Steal and Destroy.
This was true back then, it is true now. Ever since the fall of Man and the rebellion of God's fallen angel, Satan has brought nothing but destruction. They have never stop working to corrupt the order of this world and Man. Many times we've forgotten behind the scenes of this perverse world, is the work of Satan. I've always believe the place where the enemy has a stronghold and when God's people pray and a breakthrough is about to happen, the enemy will defy in greater measure by wreaking havoc and destruction so that people will lose hope and give up.
Malaysia has never seen such perverse evil in it's history. We know who are behind the strife of this country and no they are not flesh and blood. And thus, I believe because of that, someone is praying in this country. Somewhere there's a Prayer warrior or a Godly woman on her knees, praying for the well being of this country and their prayers is shaking up many things.
Despite of the depressing incidents happening, despite of the fear of this life, despite of the uncertainty of the future, you child of God have hope.
King David knew this hope. Even though He is king, with all the resources and power at his disposal, he still at the end chooses to put his trust in God who loves Him. Not in his riches, not in his sovereign power as king, not in his own strength. King Saul wanted to kill him, even David's own Man wanted to kill Him. David was always surrounded by uncertainty most of his life and yet He persevere in life because He believed and knew God. At one time when King David was surrounded by people who's about to take this life, David tired and cast down, encouraged himself in the Lord. (KJV). Another translation says He strengthened himself in the Lord.
That has always intrigued me. How can you encourage yourself in God, unless you really knew who God is. David knew who, his God is. The God who watches over his life, who answered his prayers, who protected his life and who has provided all that he needed, a God who brings all thing to work together for him. That is the God whom King David, encouraged himself with.
David sang a song in 2 Samuel 22:3, after God delivered him from Saul.
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior-- from violent people you save me. To King David, God is his place of Refuge, a Safe Place of Stronghold like a watch Tower.
I encourage dear brethrens, in trying times like today, come to God for refuge and be like David. Say like David;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior!
Is it just mere words to comfort you? No. Dear Friends, our God is a living God who cannot lie. He conforms to the truth and promises of his word. Take hold of 2 Samuel 22:3, declare it by faith then act by faith and see the Salvation of the Lord manifest in your life!
God Bless!
