Not your phone problem. Its Celcom. I have the same problem where the data connection is not stable from place to place within the same area. For example, when I moving from Taipan USJ to oneCity to shah alam - I can see that the signal move from 4G to H+ then to 3G then go H+ etc. etc.. If you stay in 1 place, better signal. Even indoors, stay downstairs get E or 3G then go upstairs get 3G and H+. duh...

And when move to KK, the line data is stable. I guess less people.
*
I see. But be4 that celcom no problem at all. Too bad my area still not covered by LtE yet.

Just got myself a new First Basic 38 plan over the weekend. Only had issue within the first hour of activation. Since then, been problem free. Just did a side by side test with my Maxis on S6 and Celcom on iP6. My celcom speedtest was about 1mb faster than Maxis for DL but was much slower when it comes to UL. Area in Taman Puchong Utama, both registering 4G network.

But considering I am paying I think RM70 for 2GB with no free minutes on Maxis, this RM38 plan is a great deal. Once I'm done informing everyone, will terminate Maxis if there are no issues with Celcom after a month or so.

you should use the MNP option and keep your current number.

I am aware of that. But running away from Ah Longs ... laugh.gif

But seriously, I am changing no because of the non-stop advertisements that comes in via 6xxxx nos, be it for properties or whatsoever. They are damn blardy annoying. I'm now keeping track of who I give this new number to.

I've just port from Maxis to Celcom 4 days ago. While the reception is ok, the data connection is a super big letdown for me.

I work in KLCC area and stay in Kota Kemuning area, both which I have very unstable data connection. Like previous forumer said, when its on 4G, it's only 2/3 bar. 3G will get 4-max. But even with full bar, simple page like Google also can't load. Complained a couple of times and waiting for their tech people to call back (which I doubt will ever happen)

I took up the plan after my colleagues said its good, but now it seems like maxis does provide a better connection, but at a much higher price.

Going to try Celcom till end of the month. It's a very good deal if their service is at least 50/60% as what is advertised. I'll definitely port out if it's still unusable.

I am currently using this plan for about 3 weeks adi. So far I am using 3G only, because I think LTE line is still quite rare in most area and I dun wan my phone keep switching between 4g and 3g...which will takes up battery doh.gif

At office (KL, Menara Maybank), I am getting full bar for 3g. At home (Puchong, nearby SJKC Ladang Harcroft), I am getting about 2 or 3 bars of line, which is the same when I was using Maxis.

I travelt to work everyday using LRT...and did some comparison on the data connection speed. Previously when I was using Maxis, the line is quite unstable when I am trying to load things on my phone...after changing to Celcom, I can browse 9gag easily and fast...

For me, everything is working fine as of now. But yea, still a bit unsatisfied because their 3g tend to switch between 3g and H most of the time...

Anyway, is anyone facing this issue when they place a call...the waiting sound is kinda soft...this only happened after I switched to Celcom...any solution for this?

Using HTC One M8

i didn't even port to this plan. bought a new number just because i thought promo would end and what do you know, next day people say they extend wtf

i'm currently in cyber and even though the signal shows 4g, i can't get a good signal. signal is spotty as fck here. and it's not just here, a lot of places are the same

i regret a lot jumping to this plan from maxis. sigh...

Been using Digi for the past 10+ years & decided to port to Celcom First Basic 38 (along with my sub + other lines, total of 4x lines converted).

And shock to realize that Celcom reception is terribly horribly BAD. Almost 80% of my daily reception is on 1-2 bars. And with such weak signal, data network is almost like handicap <cacat>. So regret that I made the wrong decision to port all my lines out to Celcom.

Drop calls, Zero reception, Dead/Snail data - are all I'm facing currently. Escalated to Celcom 3x times (3x case numbers), but said Tech Support going to contact me (not surprising that no one ever contact me after that). And what is the point of calling me for, it is not my line issue now, is the entire Celcom signal strength we're talking about.

Some may say it's the location I'm in. Well, I got 4x lines all together (use by 4 different people; in different locations; travelling around Klang Valley & PJ).  All encounter the same problem & having the same complaint.

Tried resetting network, signal  booster app, tried on different devices, speed test like crazy - all the same problem.
I am really hoping this to be temporary (but 2 weeks already), as the First Basic 38 is really a competitive plan that I wish to stay on for all my 4 lines to also reduce my monthly bills. However if things remain, then no choice but to pay a little more, than to hold a phone with ZERO reception. Impossible to have a phone that can't even dial out emergency.

Sharing with you the missed-calls record (with my cell/data network on).

shakehead.gif Summary of all the issues after 1 month of usage: doh.gif
- Whenever 3G/H+ received, phone network strength will show full bar. But 4G received, signal bar immediately drop to 1-2 bar.
- Data usually works outdoor (slow speed), but dead whenever goes indoor.
- Averagely 1-3 call drop every 5mins call.
- During calls, very often voice turn into some robotic/transformer like sound. Happened to different Celcom line (different devices).
- Delayed SMS received.
- Sometimes when you tried to end a call, it will keep auto-redial for no reason & refuse to end call. Happened to all my Celcom line (different devices "Samsung & Asus").
- Call connection is slow. Averagely took 7-9 secs to connect.

I am using it~ though I have a little hiccup with the data part, but overall it works fine? surely it could be because of your location.

Probably change the setting to only use 3g max. It worked for me as I had the same issue as yours

I can totally relate with you as I have just ported to the same plan and experienced the same thing
So much for Celcom having the best network.. whenever the connection is 2 signal bars they will automatically convert the incoming call to missed call by just sending you an SMS.. then we have to call back the other person and used up all our minutes.
Such lousy connection.. on par with Umobile

And the Wifi 3gb that they promised is non-existent...

If there's one thing I'm happy about this plan is that it alerts other players like Digi to give even better plans. Can't wait to port back out to Digi/Maxis
