then better work in china (but not hong kong not shaghai .. not big cities in china)...

One of my friend work in Dung kun (he is six sigma black belt) .. here is the information he give me..

pay is around rm8000 to rm15000... (say production manager/QA/IT/Eegineering)

Rental ( rm500 for high class fully finish studio (even equid with 26"LCD))
Transport ( rm150 for the taxi )
Food ( rm150 - rm300 .. depend where he eat.. 1 bow of beef noodles
is rm2.50, 3 bottles of local beer [chin tao] is rm10)
women shakehead.gif (he change "girl friend" every months rclxub.gif but girl are look like model (rm2000)

he current salary is around rm13000 per months (including allowance) and his package including 1 return ticket to malaysia yearly.. so he claims he can save more than rm8000 per months.. (if he find a proper girl friend.. then he save at lease another rm2000)

I have another friend who work in hong kong with salary rm17000... but the rental already cost him rm3500.. just a small apartment .. less than 500sf..

May God Bless You,
Just wonderin' is it true that website hosting and design business is dying in Singapore? Because the students spoilt the market with S$ 50.00 per design?

Can I confirm this?

I don't know about that, But I think website business is saturated anywhere because
- any college student can do it
- it's quite an unspecialized skill.

Find a niche in website business that is specialized. e.g High-level J2EE, Websphere. Need to be different from others. Find an edge.

Wah ! so many good comment. smile.gif
-U are encourage to work in SG I should say.
-But dun spend too much money in SG itself.
-Convert the currency and spend when u return home.
-If u are looking for a new life, forget it.Small place,not many places to go.I remember my freinds tend to ask each other where to go weekend.Guess what their answer ? If not shopping ,then sentosa island.If shopping, for sure is orchard road.Imagine urself, go to timesquare every weekend exclude other place such as lot 10, Sg.wang,Petaling Street.etc. but just times-square.How do u feel ?
-Staying SG is good because feel very peaceful .Not like us here "mat rempit"as example for recently,20 persons with "parang" handam a wrong target (a group with 3 peoples drove a Mitsubishi car).
-The con is u cannot use EPF money until u are 55 years old.There is like 24% cut of ur salary.
-At first it was fun and full of excitement.However at the end, one might feel homesick.Because still ur homeland is bolehland with all the good freinds,family,family relatives,u will miss them so much.In just a few years u got boring for the life there.So,save the hard earn money by working hard there and make as much as possible for the few years,u will plan to come back to ur homeland.

Good luck to those who are going there soon. icon_rolleyes.gif
Welcome back to those who are returning. smile.gif

How much you can save from SGD 2k ?
How long do you need to work there before you really get the job you like ?
Can you get the job that you like faster by staying in M'sia ?

Isn't your friend forgetting about the tiny matter of taxation in China?

Tax on foreigners is very, very heavy. Unless that RM13,000 is Net Salary after tax... your friend's not going to save RM8000 a month (after paying for a RM2000 gf).

In any case, SS BBs in MNCs earn salaries of about S$7000-10000 and that's about RM16,000 to 23,000. More than enough to offset the higher std of living and still come out better.

Your fellow friend in China is earning so much its because he has got great recognition in his Six Sigma skills, Black belt is the highest one could go for a cert in Six Sigma. I think he deserves to be paid that range as there are not many people who have that title, and companies like General Electrics and Motorola are the ones who prefer hiring ppl with this skills in their QC/Manufacturing plant in order to minimize the defective rates.

Only 2 compulsory conditions, u can withdraw the money from Singapore CPF ( Central Provident Fund )
[Malaysia is called EPF].

1.You have to wait until ur age reach 55 and you are no more going into SG again.
2.When one passed away.The fund can be claimed by his family or family relative but better to write down the beneficiary name first.If not, an original certificate of death is needed.

Only PRs and citizens contribute towards CPF. For foreigners, they can withdraw their CPF if they renounce their PR and leave Singapore permanently. I'm not sure if West Malaysians are still excluded from this.

From the same site:

2. What type of properties can I buy under the scheme?

You can buy residential properties in Singapore that are built on freehold or leasehold land with a remaining lease of at least 30 years. However, the remaining lease must last you up to at least 80 years old.

As highlighted,to be frank with u, not many willing to have such situation happen to them.That means not many is willing to leave Sg (Our neighbour) permanently.

Okay, I just looked at my original letter from CPF Singapore.Please read carefully.

You are not eligible to withdraw your CPF savings as you do not satisfy ALL the conditions listed below :

[1] that you are a Malaysian citizen holding a Malaysian identity card ;

[2] that you have left Singapore permanently to reside in West Malaysia;

[3] that you are either :
(a) 55 years old or above; or
(b) below 55 years old but above 50 ,and have not worked in Singapore in the two years before your application; or
(C) physically or mentally incapacitated from ever continuing in any employment or is found to be of unsound mind;

[4] you do not hold a Singapore work permit.

Man, how do satisfy all these requirement ? sweat.gif sweat.gif
