Does anyone know where can I repair or replace the BIOS chip of M17x R4.. I effed it up by flashing it with the bios for regular R4 instead of the 3D Vision version.

uh? weird; i always use the same bios file for both versions.

steps are:
1. download and extract a05 bios with winrar directly into a fat32-formatted pendrive. rename the file QBR00EC.fd to M17R4.hdr (you only need this file in the usb stick; you can delete the rest);
2. connect the usb stick to esata port of your r4. (one of the ports at the right side of laptop when you use it)
3. the rest read the link above.

after downgrading to a05, you can upgrade again to a13 or whatever version that you want. i have used this method several times previously.

Erm Nvidia just announced 1080 1060 and 1070 for laptop. These are desktop grade cards. Rightnow I am not sure whether these cards can be upgraded or not. I mean if you're looking to buy the latest Alienware in a month or two.
