7970m.
8gb ram
240 watt adapter

The issue here is:
Can this m17x r4 upgrade with 970 or newer pascal cards? 1060/1070?

980m, yes (there are tutorials on how to do this; not complex but be sure you follow the steps properly); new pascal cards, no.

since your current gpu is amd, so you might need to change the x-bracket. (maybe heat sink too; not sure); 240w adapter is ok; if you wanna have more juice, go for 330w adapter.

may i know if anyone here provide warranty extension services.
my m17x r4 lcd panel got horizontal lines.
i know this is not software and GC issue because its happened before this and they change the lcd panel. sad.gif

I received customized Alienware 17 R4 last Tuesday after order from Dell web, not sure if it related with 15 though.


Btw, anyone have any good backpack suggestion that can fit in the new Alienware 17? Is the Vindicator 2.0 out in the stores already?
