Nope, it was ordered during the free headphone/cash rebate time which is fine, because i actually want to find a backpack that does not scream out "Alienware inside". But seems like it is hard to find a good looking professional sturdy backpack for new AW17. Its official backpack i guess will be the last resort.

your sales Representative quite bad to be this, we manage ordered few units AW laptop ( customise ), come with free headphone as well, the backpack is included even thats cash rebate.

Wow that's nice, I was only informed that the new backpack is not yet available and that's it. I even asked them is the processor base frequency is correct because previously they stated it is 2.3ghz for i7 6700hq and said to get back to me in 2 days time and guess what, she didn't . But that doesn't matter since i'm getting the i7 6820hk anyway.

But anyway, i'm loving the laptop

yes, the new backpack , its only able to ship to us 2 -3 weeks later from ytd. ( laptop get first, backpack another round)

its quite headache look for suitable backpack if you see the design ( outer vent )

Bro, mind to share your new 17 R4 cooling benchmark? I check from overseas AW forum, most of the users getting very bad benchmark for i7-6820HK due to thermal paste problem.

How do I do that? I can say though that I can play the new Doom at Ultra and it runs very quietly

I play Skyrim SE for an hour at all maxed, temps about 75 ~ 77 max on cpu, while on my gpu was about 71~75 max.

On Doom Ultra the cpu went max 88c but most of the time hovering 60~70c, gpu temps remain at 71~75max. See if i have more time to run more temp monitoring

*I'm using i7 6820HK and GTX 1070 version too on AW 17

AW 17 R2 or later version can't upgrade GC. All soldered on Mobo.

You can purchase a graphic Amp and a desktop GC.

aiyo cpu and gpu in aw17 r4 are soldered; and ram slot count is still 2x :/

this is boring.

edit: went through the specs and all, overall is ok, except for parts like half-sized m.2. (why don't they just make it 3x full-sized?)

two 2280 m.2 one 2242 m.2, there are 3 m.2 slots in this gen, i believe its more what enough for the storage, even-though not all 2280 in size
about ram, 32 gb max shall consider more then over repletion, haha,
