Im working with a company that provide electrical and instrument services especially for oil and gas(offshore n onshore),chemical plant etc. I was a mechanical engineering student and to be honest i am so much interested to be in piping(piping engineer). I dont mind to start my career back as mechanical engineer if i am going to be offered to join fresh graduate programme especially in piping

Observe a friend of mine who is pipeline engineer on contractor side, what they do is pipeline maintenance (blasting + coating), wrapping using pro assure (if i got it right), sectional replacement & pigging. Not to difficult to do in the eyes of the observer, paperwork wise i have no idea lah..

Sums it up perfectly. rclxms.gif

Might be a lot of paperwork because you have to manage and arrange here and there. Was offered for this position once by Petronas and I rejected it.

"May" & "refining" . Not affecting the upstream sector... maybe their contract with petronas is going to expire and they may consider this option as a way out early.

I only interested to have petrol price of rm1.5-1.7 for RON97. To get this price, oil price needs to maintained at USD15-25.

any seasoned grease monkeys can give me some advices?

i'm an undergraduate in SG uni and had internship in jurong island. a chemical manufacturing company. I plan to do another internship in malaysia.

my question is what kind of companies should I try? is Technip a good option? I wanted to explore other roles in the industry, process design, if possible.

The theft/break-ins in Miri are increasing as 3rd Party contractors to Petronas and Shell losing their jobs. Those poor guys are paid daily when they turn up for work.

Sigh...

There is no guarantee that the Najib leadership will drop petrol prices even with USD 15-25 per barrel. After all, lower costs means higher profits to prop up shrinking government coffers. Looks like they are trying to recuperate back all the subsidies they have been giving all these years.

For a design company, Technip one of the better ones. Very specialized but be prepared to do the same thing for years before they start moving you up.
