QUOTE(supersound @ Jul 2 2015, 08:41 AM) Shell = sell. Siemens laid its >8000 employees to rest, normal HP close it operations down in Cyberjaya = normal Shell move out = abnormal? What is the logic? Most probably downstream will be out and upstream will stays?

QUOTE(supersound @ Jul 21 2015, 01:24 AM) Already started, and quite happy with it. When I "lost" the job, I thought it was my end of day, but renting a small stall for rm300 and start selling noodles, I actually earn more. At least I no need to improve my PLP skills, not to mention I no need to pay 5 figures tax. Senior I feel proud of you.. honestly But can you post more constructive /positive reply instead of pessimistic comments. Thank You

Didn't expect downstream is the much safer place now. But don't know for how long.
This happened too fast, sometimes still feels like a dream.

QUOTE(feekle @ Aug 2 2015, 09:52 AM) A friend of mine in deleum said their packages is reduce by 40% since the drop in oil price. U sure they're hiring? Last conversation with him they're having headache how to keep most of their work force with the reduction of their work package. Good thing about them is they don't retrench their workforce. No reduce headcount can sustain? sounds like unbelievable I'm also agree, this time is more worst than 2008, why this happen on our time? Don't feel it will be recover anytime soon. QUOTE(supersound @ Aug 5 2015, 01:51 PM) Now is under long term thunderstorm in O&G, time for big company like Petronas to review contracts with Alibaba companies. Which ever Alibaba companies that still can get contract from Petronas must have strong connection with top management Maybe will jump out an Alibaba company and buy Shell Malaysia totally, just like Petron bought over ESSO last time Shell retail business is different, as the market leader in Malaysia, it's a cash cow and holding a big volume and significant profit contribution to the company. Esso in Malaysia was not doing I remember, San Miguel was buying it with a high price during the O&G good time.

Just have a thought, depreciation of MYR might helps in slow down the retrenchment? It's RM4.10 now.
