If both cards are reference model, then it will be the same (same clock speed, design etc.)

Edit: Warranty might not same because Zotac always offer 3+2 years warranty for their product.

Hard to say, all the shops are still there to survive, which means they are all competitive in their way.

But generally, I will advice you to pay visit to the few bigs first, Viewnet, AllIT, Jayacom and Cycom, those which got pricelists at LYN main page.

Also, Sri Computer is something worth mentioned seperately, cause their range of products and prices can be vary vastly from others, though they used to be complained for sucky aftermart services, not sure bout now.

Bro,it is impossible to get that for RM16xx.Plus the GPU will be bottlenecked by the CPU.

What's your budget and usage?
*
my budget around 1.5k, can exclude ram and monitor, document/spreadsheets, light simulation and gaming (d2 and some others, doesnt require max graphics)

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Jun 28 2015, 01:43 AM)
Well some of the hardware you have chosen are not available in Malaysia such as RAM and mobo.
*
any suggestion to replace any of them of similar/lower price?
thanks

Excluded RAM and monitor as requested.

Intel Pentium G3240 - RM 209
MSI H81M-P33 - RM 199
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 199
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 199
PowerColor R7 360 2GB GDDR5 - RM 459
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135

Total: RM 1400

Suggest you to top up your budget a bit for Intel Core i3 with hyperthreading which helps in gaming performance.

With monitor:
Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 - RM 949
Asrock H97 Pro4 - RM 389
Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1271
Seasonic M12II EVO 520W - RM 319
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135
BenQ GL2450-B - RM 479

Total: RM 3542 (GPU is from Cycom, others are from Viewnet inclusive of GST)

If don't want monitor, you can switch the GTX970 to PowerColor R9 390X 8GB GDDR5 PCS+ (RM 1799) which is more powerful than it. If you prefer Nvidia, downgrade the CPU to i5 4460 (RM 679) and get Palit GTX980 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream (RM 1993 from Cycom).

Without monitor with R9 390X:
Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 - RM 949
MSI B85M-E45 - RM 289
PowerColor R9 390X 8GB GDDR5 PCS+ - RM 1799
Seasonic S12II 620W - RM 339
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135

Total: RM3511 (Viewnet price inclusive of GST)

Without monitor with GTX980:
Intel Core i5 4460 - RM 679
Asrock H97 Pro4 - RM 389
Palit GTX980 4GB GDDR5 Super Jetstream - RM 1993
Seasonic S12II 620W - RM 339
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135

Total: RM 3535 (GPU is from Cycom, others are from Viewnet inclusive of GST)

Hi PC builder experts,
Can suggest me a gaming rig for budget about RM6K?
Requirement : GPU at least GTX970 and 27" monitor.
I've tested ASUS MX279H and I would say it's pretty sweet and affordable at RM1300+. Any better monitor within that price range?

Not all Xeon is better than i5 but the Xeon I suggested is same tier with i7 4790 with lower clock speed and no iGPU only.

The difference between Asus and Palit is the price, design, clock speed etc. Asus product is overpriced I would say, you end up paying extra RM 250+/- if you choose Asus for the same GTX970 that you could get with Palit.

Thanks a heap. I'll bear that in mind when I purchase for my rig! Do you think GTX970 is enough for every game?

With the RM currency getting weaker everyday, I don't think the price will drop anytime soon.

Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 - RM 949
Asrock H97 Pro4 - RM 389
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 209
Palit GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream - RM 1377
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 189
Seasonic M12II EVO 520W - RM 319
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135
BenQ GL2450-B - RM 479

Total: RM 4046 (GPU is from Cycom, others are from Viewnet inclusive of GST)

If you want to include SSD in your build (this will convert to mATX mobo to prevent overbudget):

Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 - RM 949
MSI B85M-E45 - RM 289
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 209
Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1271
Liteon S900 128GB SSD - RM 269
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 189
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 199
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 135
BenQ GL2450-B - RM 479

Total: RM 3989 (GPU is from Cycom, others are from Viewnet inclusive of GST)

Hi Sifus,
Im building a desktop (for movies, internet surfing & Dota 2) for my friend. Budget Around RM2-2.5k but the list i have now is already exceeding it.

CPU: i7-4970S - already have
SSD: Intel SSD 535 Series, 240GB - already have
Motherboard: ASUS B85M-G - RM312 (not sure if this motherboard is good enough but generally want asus only due to quality and reliability reasons)
RAM: KINGSTON 8GB DDR3 (1600MHz) - RM232 (Would dual channel x2 4GB be faster?)
Power Supply: CORSAIR CX Series Half Modular CX600M - RM364 (any better option?)
HDD: 1TB Western Digital 64M SATAIII - WD10EZRX - Green Power - RM216 (optional can removed)
CPU: Heatsink COOLER MASTER Hyper 212X - RM152 (needed cause cpu dont have cooler/heatsink)
Graphics: SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON R7 260X 128bit 2GB DDR5 (PCIE 3.0) - New - RM464 (is this enough for Dota 2?)
Cooler Fans: Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 RPM x2 - RM160 (can remove if not needed)
Casing: CORSAIR CARBIDE SPEC-01 Mid Tower Case - RM228 (any other slim micro-atx casing with good cable management & cooling?)
Optical Drive: ASUS 24X SATA DVD-RW Drive - DRW-24D3ST - RM65
Grand Total - RM2631.65

Would appreciate any expert advice on this matter. Thanks:)

Asus B85M-G - RM 313 (Well you want Asus for the quality and reliability reasons but their after sales service is bad TBH doh.gif )
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 209 (Dual channel is faster but you won't notice it in real world performance so just get 1 stick of 8GB, cheaper than 2 sticks of 4GB and have higher resell value in the future)
Seasonic M12II EVO 520W - RM 319 (A lot better than Corsair CX series due to 100% Japanese capacitors inside)
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 189 (Don't get WD Green, it is a turtle, max speed is just 5900RPM compared to Blue 7200RPM, you will notice the speed difference when you copy huge amount of files or load games etc.)
PowerColor R7 360 2GB GDDR5 - RM 459 (R7 260X is last generation card, get the new 3xx series, enough to max out Dota 2 at 1080p)
Corsair Carbide Spec-01 - RM 229 (Can switch to Thermaltake Versa H25 to save money)
Cryorig QF120 Performance (2200RPM) PWM x2 - RM 98
Asus DVD-RW SATA ODD - RM 59
CM Hyper 212X - RM 169

Total: RM 2044

Still have budget left, can use it to get a better GPU if you want.
