Asus products are having "premium" price here, if you want to get best value mobo, go for Asrock, it's always cheaper than other brands and quite reliable, but the Gigabyte Z97X GAming 5 and Asus Z97 PRO GAMER both are almost same price.

If you are looking for good onboard sound card and overclocking ability, just pick the Asus Z97 PRO GAMER, Asrock Extreme 4 which is about the same price point only using realtek sound card.

If comparing with same price point with Asus Z97 PRO GAMER, it is the only one with custom SupremeFX sound card, Gigabyte also using realtek one.

The motherboards from the last couple of years has been starting to at least make some strides in audio quality. ALC1150 is actually a pretty decent DAC, but having the DAC itself is only part of a whole audio solution. How it is implemented (with the right caps, the amp for stage out, channel inputs/out, etc.) is also crucial to how good a DAC sound.

One of the best DACs on the market now a days is still the ESS9018 and without proper implementation, I can guarantee that it won't sound better than an average entry level DAC. That said, DACs now a days sounds pretty similar to one another. It's not a very significant difference, noticeable but never night and day.

To answer your question, the ALC1150 (I assume you're talking about this DAC as most "gaming" mobos uses this) is a warmish sounding DAC, not overly warm though. In comparison to say a Creative SBZ, it uses a Cirrus Logic CS4398, it's warmer than the ALC1150 in sound signature, which usually means more depth (and bloat) in bass. Which is better is up to your ears to decide, but if you ask me if they are comparable then I'd say yes.

Obviously the SBZ has a better implementation and comes with Creative's SBX software.  We are getting closer to the day where I think most gamers who actually care about audio quality would not need anything more than the standard ALC1150 on their mobo. There are still some flaws even on the most expensive "gaming" motherboard now, once they fix this then I think most gamers should be in for a good audio treat.

Why not upgrade the GTX 750 Ti to the 2GB edition or get the R7 265 instead?
Also, I think can upgrade the Intel Core i3 4150 to Intel Core i5 4460 3.2GHz at RM670-ish.

The GPU terence_nwb suggested is GTX750,not GTX750Ti. Ti is its brother.
