I think the portforwarding settings in your router will not change. You just need to check the settings in your router and change the port number in utorrent and make a static IP. Anyway, practice makes perfect. I've reformat a couple of times since start in the torrent world.

i got problems with utorrent..why sometimes my ut is very slow..even the seeders are (1+++ in swarm) and peers are (1+++ in swarm)...n the connected peers are around 5-6++..i got only 3-4 kbps...n sometimes..i got 7++...my internet speed is 6M...thx ...

Have been using uTorrent 1.7 beta quite sometimes, want to share the new feature "Automatice" upload rate with people.

Most people may already know, when set your upload rate to high may affect your download speed, or even others internet application, e.g. Web browsing.
But the concept of BT is sharing, the more your share, the more you get.
So, increase the upload speed always help your download speed. Usually we set the upload rate in a fix rate. Somtimes it is not efficient because of inconsistent network activity.
Or, if your Modem/Router is easily "hang" due to overload, this will help also (but not 100%).
So, to optimize your upload rate, utorrent has came out a new feature that "Automatic" adjust your upload rate. After some experience, I give the following suggestion for the setting.

Under "Connection", check the "Automatic" checkbox at the Upload setting.
Next go to "Advanced", set the following:

bt.auto_ul_interval 150
bt.auto_ul_max **** (see below)
bt.auto_ul_min 1024

value in seconds, default is 600, which means try to resample (measure) the network performance and adjust your rate accordingly.
For me, 10 minutes is too slow to response, I set it to 150 seconds.

value in kilobytes/second
devide your ISP upload rate by 8.
eg. Streamyx Packages

Basic 384k (U: 128k) - 16
Basic 512k (U: 256k) - 32
Basic 1.0M (U: 384k) - 48

people may think that it is too high to make it to the maximum.
but don't worry, uTorrent will measure the speed, and most of the time, it will control under 80% of your Max.

since Beta build 2740, the bt.auto_ul_min meaning has been changed.
"Change: bt.auto_ul_min no longer specifies smallest speed sample, but the lowest auto rate"
my previous recommend setting "1000" work not so well (don't know why). You can leave it to the default "8500" or my new recommend "1024".

Please share your experience after apply this setting.

my utorrent seems got some problem this 2 days, got tons of seed and peers, but mine cannot even connect to one seeds/peers and download is 0.0% all the time...

not just for torrent ,
but for application that need to go through router without any block,
games,remote desktop, and much more.

i actually have the same problem as you. and my tracker status is saying that my connection is closed by peers. anyone know how to fix this?

try changing teh ip by reconnect.

128.xxx
