I can't download using utorrent.All the files are red in color.

I did the port checking http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=xxxxxx and according to the site, the port is open.

I have disabled upnp too.I'm using vista home premium.

Any idea what's wrong?

I can download just fine using bitcomet. (50kB/s +)

maybe the problem with seeders,or with the files that u try to download,

I doubt it.Coz I'm downloading that same file using bitcomet right now.

how is the µTorrent speed??
you didnt mention it at all... and juz said the Bitcomet download speed only...

if the download status show red in colour
it mean that it is the peer problem
try look at the "availability" there, is it over 1.0 ??

try open the task for a longer time
so that you have enough time to connect to more peer

I didn't mention the speed coz I couldn't download anything as the status is red in color.The availability shows 0 actually.This is my first time using uTorrent.After finding out that it couldn't download anything, I use bitcomet instead.

Weird thing is, I'm able to download the files using bitcomet.Same torrent file.

ok its starting to download now...the availability is 4.992 and the dwld speed is less than 3kB/s.

I just faced a blackout and now my uTorrent is blank. All the previous tasks are gone, but the settings remain. How do I recover the files?

1st, make sure you can view hidden folders. Then go to

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator<or whatever user name>\Application Data\uTorrent

Check and see if the torrent files are still there, if they are, open it with uTorrent again and recheck from within the software.

Hi..I'm new here..Got a question to ask..Previously when using Utorrent, the DHT at the bottom is able to connect and show the numbers..But now it seems that it only shows either "DHT:Waiting to login or DHT: 0 (Login)"...It used to work last time..Now I don't know why it doesn't anymore..Any ideas on how to solve this problem?I can on Utorrent for the whole day and the DHT just doesn't connect or anything..Even with torrents that support DHT it shows "DHT status: Waiting for announce..."

You need to ensure that UDP traffic is allowed on the port you're using (firewall/port forwarding rules).

If I'm not mistaken, I need to go to the modem/router page to check that right?As far as I know the port type that I forwarded is TCP....Does DHT work on TCP or it works only on UDP port type?

Also I tried to change the port type from TCP to UDP..But that didnt work either...

harlow. i wanna ask. y when i dl multiple torrent, there is this 1 torrent will only dl and the other 0, but when i stop it, other will run.
i hav try limit the dl/up rate, still the same.
its like this 1 torrent suck up my bandwidth. but it only dl 10kB++
now i penin edy,

edit: i also try setting its priorities to low, and other high/normal, still the same

anybody know any port that already open without doing any portforward...I try portforword on my dlink dsl-500t router but somehow my dns server ip has the same ip with default gateway...anybody has this kind of situation? when I try to use what so ever ip on it, I cannot browse any website...so I have to disabled back my static ip...

im currently using bitcomet but now i think i wanna use utorrent coz this bitcomet doesnt save my settings but then i still got many uncomplete task so if i change just like that wat is the wise step i should take ?

the BitComet thread first post got the way...

This is because when selecting the speed guide, it also sets the maximum active torrents/maximum download torrents that the speed supports..The rest of the torrents that don't run are in que.You can force start the torrent and it will run..Or you can go to your preferences under queing to change the maximum number of upload/download torrents etc.

If you want to force start your torrent, right click on the torrent and you will see "Force Start".After that beside the download status of your torrent you will see[F].Example: Downloading[F].

nope. the prob is not about queuing. just that 1 torrent run while other seems like dead but it have seed and peers. when i stop the it, the other will run.

uTorrent's site has the guide.

I've done it before. and it works. dont panic -,- it takes awhile for them to check once u load them to uTorrent.
