Downloaded the update but didn't install yet. Worried it might affect HaoHD like the last round. Any opinions on this?

from the first day i recieved my box until today i used usb lan, its stable and consistent.. i never used wifi.

please get the usb hub with usb 3.0 if possible. faster speed, mine is only usb 2.0.

It all depends on the wifi router/AP I guess.

My mibox has a faster connection on wifi AC with my AP (Asus RT-AC68U) ~ 250-300mbps internet speedtest.

With my usb3 gigabit ethernet dongle I get around 200-250mbps on internet speedtest since the mibox only has a usb2 port.

guys... help needed on Netflix


i. I have Xiaomi 4k TV ( Mi TV 2 )
ii. I have Xiaomi Mi Box 3 (latest firmware just upgraded today)
iii. I have Netflix UHD account (RM51/mth)
iv. Im on unifi 30Mbps plan

And before saying my internet issue ; Netflix recommend for UHD is 25Mbps...

Did you try browsing fast.com (powered by Netflix) and see what speed you are connecting to Netflix's servers?

You may have a Unifi 30Mbps account but due to various reasons you may not be connecting to Netflix at full speed:-

1. Your modem or router may be the bottleneck.

2. You may experience 2.4 GHz interference (neighbours, microwave, etc).

3. There may be congestion at Unifi's side.

4. Your location may be far away from the nearest Netflix PoP (Point of Presence).

5. There may be congestion, other issues or slowness between your location to your ISP and to Netflix.

i dont hv mi box and netflix acc so cant really sure but u need devices that certified by netflix to play UHD content.

mi box didnt list there. if u hv PC, u can try watch it thru windows 10 apps
netflix is the 1 controlling which device can get those 4k content

MiBox does support UHD and HDR from Netflix. So that's not the issue.

What is ur output resolution on the MiBox, I found that to see UHD and HDR content on miBox u would need to set output resolution 4k 60 and output 10bit from colour space. Also, try to restart box using the settings after u change the settings to see if that helps.

Just an update ; I did little trouble shooting yesterday ; I changed the mibox to HDCP input on Onkyo receiver ; and now it works with 4k UHD!

My mi box is the MDZ-16-AB. The remote broken so I use Android TV remote control apps. After upgrade to android tv 8.0, the remote apps cannot connect to the box via wifi. I tried on different phones also same. Tried uninstall and reinstall also same. Does anyone have the same problem?

I'm looking for a replacement for the remote. Does remote compatible with MDZ-16-AA can also use with the AB version? The remote does not have the voice function.

BTW does the MDZ-16-AB has IR function?

Already tried both apps install via sideload. Can install but cannot run

MDZ-16-AB do not have IR, only bluetooth

guys, do the mibox 3 international version do the update auto or manual? btw, the latest update stable or not as of today?

MDZ-16-AB does have IR.
I am using it now.
Got con from seller(shoppe) said the remote is bluetooth version. It does work just, you need to aim it to the IR receiver.

Now, waiting for Q5 remote.

Original MDZ-16-AB remote is bluetooth version.
Better get bluetooth version can use voice function somemore.
