Thanks. I tried to check for update on Sunday 24th and it was not available...my timing sucks

I have been having a bad upgrade experience.

The MiBox upgraded fine. Then during restart gave me a HDCP 2.2 error as it was hooked up to a Pioneer 1080p .

So I moved it to my LG OLED via the LG SJ8 soundbar. No HDCP error but bad wifi issues. Could not get stable wifi for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. So did a factory reset...wifi issues resolved after that...then when I tried auto HDMI handshake to get the best resolution it returned a 720p which was shocking. I know for a fact that the LG OLED EDID clearly shows 4k/60p/YCbCr 4.4.4 . Not sure why this is so. Tried Netflix...oddly Netflix does not show me 4k UHD feeds but does not seem to show up. But HDR does....

All sorts of problems..still working thru them

Thanks Andrew, I did not try that. Will try that today...it's odd way BTW. Shd be auto sense by speed. I did set at 4k30 Hz..maybe that's why it did not show. I hv a 100Mbps line and do get high speeds during fast.com testing.

Interestingly, just setting resolution to 4k/60 does not make Netflix play in 4k. I has to set resolution , restart MiBox and reload Netflix to get it to show.

MiBox does support UHD and HDR from Netflix. So that's not the issue.

What is ur output resolution on the MiBox, I found that to see UHD and HDR content on miBox u would need to set output resolution 4k 60 and output 10bit from colour space. Also, try to restart box using the settings after u change the settings to see if that helps.

Just a note to those who upgraded to Oreo. Firmware 2179 is definitely much better than the last 2303 firmware. Dolby 5.1 streams work in Netflix and wifi is much more stable

Yes I do. It's on Android 8.0

At the moment I hv not used this for any playback of media. It's only being used for official apps.

For any UHD or BD Rips I use the q10 pro since it works well with menu and all.

I can test if u want but I'm not sure which app I shd use as there is no built in player.

Does mxpro app work with uhd and bdmv folders?

Will try this weekend and let u know. I doubt it though...

I tried it with MXPro app. It works on both bdmv folders for bd and UHD. However, it does not play the audio stream for Atmos but only plays the stream that has 5.1 Dolby Digital or pcm. So not much use. Does not work for DTS HD MA or Dolby TrueHD. So most of the times it only plays the audio commentary track of foreign tracks in DD5.1.

The good news is it does trigger try HDR flag and picture looks right for the UHD streams.

Is HBO Go already available in the Android TV store? Or did u mean loading the mobile version apk?
