Yes, I also realised this yesterday night. very slow streaming and constant buffering on iflix and Netflix on mi box. Streaming on my iPad and Apple TV not effected so it's definitely a mi box problem. Am on wifi as well. Could this be an issue with the xiaomi servers?

Ok guys and gals. For all those having the slow streaming and buffering problem on mi box international version, I found the fix for it.

In your wifi settings, change from DHCP to static and use google dns servers. 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

It solved the problem for me and full hd streaming works fine on all apps now. I've only tested this on the international version so I don't know if it'll work for other versions but you can try. I have Open DNS servers configured on my router and don't have problems with any other devices.

Guys,

One questions with Kodi on mibox.
previously on mibox 1s and kodi16, when i select a drama let it load or buffer for some time, i can watch it when i am free later since everything's loaded.

But with mibox 3S and kodi17, google's daydream screen saver will somehow interfere after some time, causing the loaded show to just stop and back to kodi's menu.

Anyone facing the same problem and any solution to this?
I've tried to turn off daydream, but no such option to do so. At most, i can only set it to a longer period of 1 hour before it starts.

i've tried to disable Daydream and Background app, but after a reboot, it will come back on, since i am not rooted i guess.

I accidentally factory reset my mibox 3s. How do I jailbreak it back and get all the apps?

I had bought a USB3 gigabit ethernet adapter which comes with 3 extra USB ports (brand orico) for my mibox but discovered that wifi AC (via my Asus Ac1900 router) was much speedier for network access. Maybe because the mibox only has a USB2 port.

Now the dongle is sitting in my drawer..

Live Streaming or playback? Actually, USB2 is more than sufficient.

Your mileage may vary. For me it was better to use wifi as my router is rock solid and fast, and it's only 2m from the mibox.

Both video playback and streaming. USB2 maxes out at 480mbps (in theory) which is fast enough for most use cases. I get 350-450mbps over wifi-AC too anyway and for some reason things are quicker on the mibox when I use wifi so I prefer it.
