Cancelled my order on Lazada and went to purchase the last set at DirectD Megastore. No special content for Malaysia. Quite laggy when setting resolution to 4k 30hz on my tv.

i got an issue,

using kodi (krypton) play my 1080p mp4 from WDMYCloud got stutter problem, looking on solution on the internet so far not really successful, did try SPMC abit better but the stutter issue still happened one or two time.

any extra config is been done to your mibox?

IMHO, it's not much difference buying from Mi Store in Lazada with discount code. It will have local warranty and faster delivery time. I have actually been hesitating since last year whether to import one in or not. Once they announced it, I made up my decision to buy the local unit.

I bought from this seller in AliExpress on 2nd of Feb 2017.  I received it on 23rd of Feb 2017.  Regret it a lot.  The reason is because I didn't received my mi box at all.  Instead, I received mi band 2 and not mi box.  Currently still in dispute process with the seller and aliexpress.  It seems they are trying to make me accept that mi band 2 to close the issue although I have given them the video + pictures of the item that I received as my evidence.  Just hoping that I can get back my money from them but it seems very slim chances as if the seller and aliexpress are on the same page. 

I think this is a lesson for me not to trust online transaction especially from China.  They wont admit their mistake and seems to put the blame on others.  Better buy from Lazada Malaysia. If I don't received my compensation from them, I will never trust AliExpress anymore and will try to tell my friends to avoid AliExpress.

My advise, better buy from local online (Lazada, Lelong, Gemfive) or local shop since you know that there is always Tribunal Pengguna to make a complaint if anything.

I got mine yesterday and all HD contents are smooth. My Hypptv box now becomes brick...lol..it updated to the latest firmware so don't have Google Play anymore. I bought the Mi box from 1Gadget for RM349.

Mibox 3 international version (with android TV 6.0).

The model is MDZ-16-AB. It comes with June 2016 firmware and the updated firmware is dated October 2016.

Just joined the club still playing with the original China firmware using GITV. Most of the contents have restriction, else slow buffering or paid contents.

Tried installed some of the famous live TV / movie apps, most of them cannot play due to region restriction. Also installed Kodi and added few addons, so far so good. Using everything stock yet, still considering whether rooting it since so far can install 3rd party apps without rooting.

Can, using the stock app Miracast with Android phone no issues at all with a little latency (<1000ms) but casting with iPhone using AirPlay, only certain apps can be cast (Photos, cant remember what else) not the entire screen like Android.

What is the prerequisites for Google Home to do so with ur Mi Box? Both devices must connected to the same network? Both must using the same Google account?

What if different google account? If other Google user in the same network trying to play something on the #mibox?
I think it either tied to same network like how Chromecast practice or same Google account (even in different network) right?
