If you are going to add xiaomi gateway and sensor, use the danieliverson fork. That is more updated.

I want to plant the sonoff inside the wall and to use the switch too but I don't know much about electrical things.

Let us know when you successfully flash the tuya lights. icon_rolleyes.gif

I successfully flashed the custom firmware
I initially wanted to solder wires to the points on the bulb, but the solder won't stick for some reason

I followed another user to make a pogo jig
And surprisingly it works (excuse the form 3 soldering skill), wasn't sure it's gonna do the job
Should make it easy to flash firmware without soldering

For the mi home, apparently i needed the 2nd version of gateway (with fm radio feature) since i can only get the gateway passcode from that version so I could pair it with home assistant. Time to get another one

Walau, using contact probe?

That is at least RM7/pcs.

No cheaper way?

No need to be z-wave, my autogate use a simple switch to open/close gate, when the switch is close, it triggers gate to open or close. the switch basically receive 12V voltage signa, I plug in z-wave relay, when send z-wave on/off signal to it, it acts as a momentary switch to send 12V signal to gate switch and voila

You can use sonoff to act as a momentary switch too, not really need to be z-wave.

Hi,

i had the same idea of modding my auto gate and even went and bought a Xiaomi Aqara wall switch for this but ended up not working in the end as i only noticed the different voltage involved. My initial plan was to integrate this into my existing xiaomi gateway gen.2 system.

Can i know what automation network are you using together with the z-wave relay? and whether this item works with existing xiaomi network?

don't mind doing some product hacks if necessary.

Kidding

Appreciate some guide or some link to get started, don't even have autogate yet but I plan to install one
Not really sure where to start with z-wave, do I need to buy a new relay or can just do like WIS9000 proposed

a reminder. the Aqara switch method doesn't work for me.
interested on the Z-wave relay + xiaomi system, if this is possible.

i know there are some development like using Raspberry Pi method runing Domotiz client or sort, but would be keen on something much simpler first if available.

First of all, it is depending on the autogate system, if the autogate system is using a relay to open/close, then you can use z-wave relay or sonoff to replace the relay.

In my case, my autogate system is using 12V relay, when you hit the switch, the NO relay is closed and sending 12V signal to open/close. if you understand how the relay works, you will know how to wire it.

Yup. It work but not quality.

Normally probe is about lifetime cycle. It usually work in how many hundred of thousand or million cycle time before got to throw it away.

Just for project or simple thing, that is ok.

But I can't use China quality.

I'm using smartthings, it support z-wave, zigbee, wifi, TCPIP LAN protocol.

Xiaomi use zigbee/TCPIP, it doesn't use z-wave, unless you know how to hack into xiaomi zigbee outlet, it is kinda difficult to integrate autogate system to xiaomi echosystem.

smartthings can integrate to all xiaomi devices, probably you can think about to switch to smartthings sweat.gif brows.gif

If you plan to automate existing lights/fan at house you could consider replacing the wall switch with wifi wall switch like sonoff t1
And you'll need to have neutral cabled wired behind the wall switch since it's required for these switches

https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-t1.html

Google home skills is planned and coming soon, for the moment you can just the app or alexa.
