1-CCA make your old speaker become a smart speaker or wireless as you put it.
You need an amp if it is a passive one and
You do not need an amp if it is an active speaker.

2-You are right, when you buy speakers with chrome-cast built-in
you do not need CCA dongle.
chrome cast built-in speakers at the moment, expensive.
if you have the budget, then ok.

3-Yes, google home have a speaker by itself.
you can create google home as a new group by itself.
Hand-free calling on google home only in the US.
Do not think it will ever be available here.
Google Home is not even officially launch here.

4-There is a lot devices out there using smart phone apps to activate
  devices.this are old technology.
If you have the budget and getting new hardware,
you should considered investing voice-controlled speakers
like Amazon Echo or Google Home.

Thanks. Now can undertsand more about this wireless speaker.

Yesterday check at the apple shop the sonos play 1 speaker. Look nice but didn't display the price. Not sure how expensive is it. Need to check more choice.

Thinking to get wan for a room. Sound quality is important to me. As I mostly listen to instrument. All the while, only know about blutooth. Wireless is new to me. Pros and cons for both system.

An active speaker with a CCA or wireless speaker. Which wan is cheaper and better sound quality. Not sure. I don't have good impression with the active speaker.

I not comfort to shout around the house to give command. Specially with my manglish that going to frustrated me if keep me repeat the command. Amazon and google should research more to make their gadget more Asean friendly.

What other automation do you plan to add?
Sonoff has the new wifi wall switch up to 3 gang, could be useful if you wanna control existing lights at home.
Since they already integrate alexa, should be no problem to issue commands

Add broadlink bean for other ir devices in different room
Xiaomi hub alarm system, motion sensor/door sensor are nice for automation with other stuff
Wifi door lock?
Can control all with home assistant or just use respective app
The sonoff switch requires neutral wire, so maybe you can tell the wireman to also loop neutral wire behind wall switch

Also, how bright is the philips bulb compared to regular bulb?

Btw, anyone know if broadlink pro (with ir) can control autogate system?

Most autogate don't use IR, it use RF frequencies, but don't think it is 433Mhz/315Mhz.

I use a z-wave relay to trigger auto gate to open/close, working perfectly.

Your autogate need to be z wave compatible for that?
Or z wave can control any ir devices?
How to know if it's not using 433/315mhz?

No need to be z-wave, my autogate use a simple switch to open/close gate, when the switch is close, it triggers gate to open or close. the switch basically receive 12V voltage signa, I plug in z-wave relay, when send z-wave on/off signal to it, it acts as a momentary switch to send 12V signal to gate switch and voila

You can use sonoff to act as a momentary switch too, not really need to be z-wave.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think autogate remote use either 433mhz or 330mhz because that's the only option I found when trying to purchase another remote. Haha

You can get it from their website here.
Lelong and Lazada also have but I don't know if they have the RF one.

I'm sorry but I don't know. I don't have one.
I guess it's possible seeing how we can duplicate one autogate remote to a new one.
