he peed on my tilam last nite cry.gif. Last nite after his dinner, i took him to the tray but he didn't want to pee / poo. Then at around 11 pm something, when I off the light, wanna go zzz ady, he came to my legs. I thot he wanna sleep with me, so i din choi him. Suddenly I heard "shhhhh" very very loud .. i on the light and saw him pee-ing on my bed cry.gif. Then I lock him in the cage while i cleaned up da mess and he was in the cage whole nite.

then this morning when i woke up, i fed him his breakfast and waited for him to pee poo again and he didn't pee poo. So, i put him in the cage and I put the mouth muzzle (dun wan him to bark) while i go to campus. Jz now when i return, he got pee poo in the cage and he went berserk when he saw me entering the room. He tried barking but kenot bark. So, he whined loudly instead. But whining is better than barking lor. Then when i released him from the cage and took off the mouth muzzle, he went berserk, kept jumping high up on me sweat.gif.

from wud I said here, I'd like to hear you guys' opinion on his toilet training. From his stubborn character, I dun think i'll be able to successfully train him to pee/poo in tray coz he won't pee/poo at all when i'm there. Will it be easier to train him to pee/poo in the cage?? As if after i fed him with his meals, I lock him up in the cage straight away until he pee poo, then i only release him ?? But during day time when i go to campus, i need to lock him in cage too. Will he think that the cage is a prison or wud?? Can give me some advices?? sweat.gif

Coudnl't get a clearer picture coz he kept moving - hyper.

yo, long time din visit here, gone thru the thread.....
Syrian, u intend to sell ur Hepy before is it? Now wanna keep again. From wat i feel, the reason for u to sell him is not bcoz of ur neighbour complaining, is u, not patience enough!!! I stay near Sg long also, u say ur neighbor is Malay is it?? tell me which lot, which unit, i go check.
From wat i search from internet, MS is not stubborn, and quite intelligent.
U tak boleh tahan the pee and poo, no patience to toilet train, so thats y u wanna sell, but end up nobody wans, and some more felt guilty abit, so wanna try again.
U owez complain and complain, say ur Hepy stuborn lah. If not mistaken, last time u own a shih tzu also. And u also complain stubborn, kenot house-trained, end up give to dunno who already. Now same case happens here.....
U r just a student, but still no time to house-train a puppy? wat happen to those who r working?? go out work at 7am, return at around 7pm, got time groom puppy, bond with them, some more house-train them in 2 months time.
U?? only complain this complain that, then later wanna sell again.......
U might think I'm flaming u, but i'm just telling wat i feel......u think of it lah.
Just try to be patience, do consistent training......
Others who dont agree with me can flame me also.

Well, my suggestion is, since your dog is going to stay in the same cage as the place he pee & poo, then it might not be a good choice. Coz dogs are animals that love cleanliness, so they will try not to pee & poo at the place they going to spend long time inside. Perhaps, you should think of how to seperate the place he stay & pee/poo.

syrian , what White Palace trying to tell here is true .
if u normally let ur Hepy stay at cage , i think ur furkid will not poo and pee at cage.
like my 2 furkids , they will not pee or poo at cage and they will hold their bladder and wait me or my gf back , then they wan me open toilet door for them to pee / poo.so i think is better separate a place for ur Hepy which is cage and tray ( for do bussiness ) , How about u can try white palace wee wee pad , i heard lots of people say it is effective , unless ur Hepy like to bite newspaper or tissue etc.

P/s : Syrian , thanks for the pics..Hepy look so cute and nice grooming ..although moustache is short , but is very nice grooming , thumb UP thumbup.gif

Yups, agree with this. Dogs love cleanliness, they won't dirty their sleeping place unless no choice... and when they dirty their place, they feel very unhappy about it.

that's good if Hepy won't pee or poo at the floor anymore.

Is is possible for you to attach three pieces of playpen to your cage? Then put newspapers or your tray within the playpen. Leave the cage door open, so he can come out and pee/poo when he wants. Since he will be contained within the playpen, then he will only do his business there. Errr....hope the explanation is clear. If not, let me know and tomorrow, I will take photo for you and show you what I mean coz I do that for some of my dogs. smile.gif

Thats what i did to my JRT also.. toilet train is just an option, if ur dog cant make it dont force it.. try something else.. keeping too much wee wee in the bladder for a long period of time, quite frequently will encourage stone growth in d bladder. My jrt pee's n poo's in the cage n sleep's all over d hse. I know that my JRT are hyper clean n wont enter d cage if it's too wet, try to wipe the bum n d private after they do their biz. Honestly u must be firm with ur MS, ur voice tone is very important, let them know who is d master and if u think u must whack, just roll up newspaper n whack ( not to extreme of course) for barking, u must pay xtra attention coz MS are abit barky n whiny, try use d bark collar. All this comes to ur patience n time, training is a must during puppy if not later u give ppl also ppl send it back.. if got xtra allowance, after age of 6 month n above can send to OB class.. its good for socialize n creates stronger bond among u n d dog.

Sorry for the long breath .. play pen gives space for ur MS to roam around and exercise their legs, caging too long hours will stress ur dog n pls remove the muzzle as this will extremely make ur dog stress! Imagine i stick ur mouth together more than 2 hours..

Cover a layer of baking powder or baking soda on your tilam before you put the bed sheet on. Just let the powder inside, no need sweep or wipe it. The powder will absorb the smell.

what is mouth collar?

kenot attach playpen to the cage - my room not enough space for 3 extension of 3 playpens. And i dun want to put in living room anymore coz my housemate will spoilt him only. No co-operation from them one.

Crazymouse,
Is baking soda in the box type? For ppl to make cake? Can find in supermarkets, right?

Then regarding the olive oil you mentioned in other thread, is it the normal cooking olive oil? How many teaspoon/drops should I mix with the food and how often do i feed him with olive oil ?

The baking soda in cantonese is called FATT FUN ah........
I understand ur room is not enuf space, but still follow wat is listed in the puppy care guide thread lah. Whenever u open cage, bring him to the toilet. If he do not do his business in 15 minutes, leave him. Play with loh....until u see him turning round, then bring him to toilet.
Leave a piece of soaked paper, dry it and place it at the bottom of ur paper stack. The smell is to attract Hepy to do his business.
After play time, put him back to the cage, then give treats. If he cry or whine, just say no, and ignore him lah.....
Really need to repeat and repeat and repeat.............
