we stand together... all ask for thier help... then they release "Utorrent - TMnet edition" hahaha

I remembered checking Utorrent few weeks ago when TMnet started throttling our connections. Those people think we don't know how to use their Protocol Encrytion or don't know how to port-forward correctly. ohmy.gif

I am not sure if they are aware of our full scale of our situation, currently.

Good point, IntegraTypeR. I'm sure other nations like Australia and other bandwidth-deprived P2P-craving nations will follow suit to employ technology similar to TM to cap BT downloads.

So in short, yes, uTorrent 2.0 WILL include a fix!

[fingers crossed]

It would be nice to have TMnet edition of uTorrent and BitComet wink.gif lol...

sam, my arguments in this thread proof that 99.99% of P2P traffic (BT specifically) are illegal. There's no justification!

I even factored in IPTV and game patches that gets distributed via P2P (BT)... and the number is still 99.99% illegal.

Hey lindows,

I got a working theory on this issue:

>> Rapidshare limiting model

Could be that TM has placed BT traffic at the lowest possible priority. So you can still connect to them, but you'll be wasting your time as the peers are all SLOW and you'll use up a slot, affecting your overall connection (due to Max TCP limit in Windows XP)

I heard that the torrent throttling have been lifted in some areas. I have friends in Ampang and Bangsar downloading beyond 100kb...and I'm still at 10kb sweat.gif

Usually these brief periods of "fast speeds" are temporary and short lived. Its either your friend has connected with local peers or... one of the fortunate ones who got unthrottled earlier than teh rest of Malaysia. Is he on the 2mbit plan? Those people could have been given more priority as they're paying RM 188 currently.

Erm... TM is scheduled to fully unthrottle BT in Dec / January and implement bandwidth caps at the same time.

I wonder how long do we need to suffer or forever...???
Did the complaints really work? If so, didn't even see any respone from nuts...
Even we know the truth now, they just get excuse n deny from us about the THROTTLE topic...
*
if you complain to tmnut, of course you won't get any response from them. they will just tell you that you are not being throttled blah blah blah. they will only start to tell you the truth when you complain to consumer organizations like cfm.

as for how long we are gonna suffer, tmnut says by the end of this year. of course anything tmnut says can't be taken seriously or trusted. they could be saying that to make us happy. that's why i keep telling you guys to complain, complain and complain. don't give up because if you do, michael lai and the nut will be the ones laughing all the way to the bank.

btw the whole world knows about the nut's unfair throttling now. our friend soulxtc has told our story in his website at www.zeropaid.com.

the only way you can bypass it is by using vpn or ssh services. there are a lot of these services in the net. the only downside is they are not free and you have to use a credit card to pay for the services. but at least you bypass this stupid tmnut throttling.

there is a "free" way to bypass it. you can use proxies to bypass but those servers don't last for long and you will have to keep on changing servers all the time.

the throttling has not been lifted. it is only temporary because tmnut is fine tuning their shaping hardware. your friends will probably be throttled sooner or later.

actually those guys at utorrent forum said that tmnut was shaping based on p2p packet patterns or something like that. they also said they can't do anything unless they rewrite the source code of the bittorrent client to change the way p2p data is sent on the net.

they are aware of our situation. there is an ISP called Rogers in Canada and that ISP is doing the exact same kind of throttling like tmnut. when the situation in the states and canada become as bad as us over here, then they will probably rewrite their BT clients to bypass this kind of shaping. when that happens we will get our speeds back and tmnut can kiss their brand new shaping hardware goodbye!!!

A big AMEN and HALLELUJAH to that! Can't wait to see the look on the CEO's face as their 4-6 month old shaping / throttling hardware becomes rubbish! LOL!

Hope they've bought insurance for "lack of ability to perform services as contracted" !!! hee hee....

Guys, I am on 1Mb package.

I only just realize this throtling thing cause I haven't really check up on LYN. No wonder I don't get any dl speed like before and I thought it was seeds problem.

So let me tell you what I am going to do when I can take time off to go to TM.

I am going to DOWNGRADE to 512Kb and I don't care whether TM allow or not.
Once I serve them the note personally at the help desk , I will pay the 512 rate.

A while back ,I held back payment of about rm250( i forgot the exact amount) for a year because they charge me extra rm15.
In between they sent me some s* email and I respond back.
Finally they agree the mistake and I pay them the correct amount.

On the legal side, it state " best effort " on the contract but throthling
definitely is not on the "best effort" side. Its on purpose

So stop whining ,etc and downgrade

( And to think I took so much effort to upgrade less than a year ago and its a long story. Basically I have to discontinue my rm66/512 and apply again to get the 77/1Mb. They won't allow straight upgrade cause
I am old customer.Stupid a**)

Hei , that is fast.
Didn't know anyone could do it faster than me.

I will be downgrading it when I can find time to go to the help desk.

Hope everyone does the same
