loui, I'm thinking about adding riot coverage.

1) In a minor accident, if the other party or bystanders get agitated and go on to damage my car (break windscreen, dent doors with helmets, etc) will I be able to claim if I don't have riot coverage? It's obvious the damage is not from the accident itself.

If windscreen is damaged as a result of the "riot" above,
2a) do I claim under riot (if I have riot coverage), or under windscreen coverage?

2b) if I have only windscreen coverage but don't have riot coverage, will I be able to claim windscreen under windscreen coverage, or they will reject since damage is caused by riot?

3) is vandalism covered by riot coverage? Say I park my car and it's damaged by unknown people but there's no report of riots or demonstration in that area.

Edit:
4) will i lose ncd if I claim under riot?

1. Not so easy for insurance company to deny liability due to riot. You need to have the said incident declared as riot by AG chambers. Remember the Hindu temple riot case which result in death of a fireman? There are few cars for damaged in between and insurance companies base on police statement, attempt to resist the claim on ground of riot. But government and AG chamber refuse to declare as riot and insurance companies end up paying

2. Need to read the policy as a whole. If riot is establish, it applies to whole policy plus any add on

3. Refer to no.1

Hi. Minor accident happened today, a preve stopped in one way road. I, a motorcycle, want to pass on the right and suddenly she opened door and i hit the door and fell to side. Her car door looked scratchless because i literally hit it at the edge/side of the door but my motorcycle coverset and radiator is damaged.

Wanted to settle tepi but makcik said she is not at fault and after few minute hearing me babling, she just drove away. I made police report with all the evidence i had, want to claim insurance. but reading through some of the issues/post here, it is not possible to claim insurance unless the preve also went on report. Any advice?

Claim for repair?

If so, keep pushing sarjan to conclude the investigation outcome

Once confirm driver at fault, the claim process will be quite straight forward

Hi everyone, really appreciate it if someone could provide a bit of advice or help.

So I was in a minor car accident a couple days ago, the other driver and I have both made a report at the police station. After the report, the police referred me to another guy in front of the KL traffic police station to get pics of my car taken and the guy offered to help me handle the repair and whatnot. Being confused and all, I let him take the report document needed to proceed with the next step of the procedure (the paper with the checklist of things I need to do). Following day I texted the same guy and told him I appreciate his help but will do the repair and all myself and asked to get the document back. The guy replied with a voice message (sounding kinda drunk?) telling me I'll have to go get it back from Perak, and being just really rude.

Question: Should I just tell the police that I'd lost the paper or try to get it back from the rude guy? Any other suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks

Don't forget to snap photo of the accident place as an evidence

Pass the documents and photo to the 4S service center or workshop to file in a claim with the insurance subject to approval

Hi guys, just yesterday got into an accident.
Got rear banged by another car on highway.

Now awaiting police results ( 2 weeks)

In the mean time, went to workshop to evaluate and proceed to claim insurance.
But was told I have to pay RM400 cause I’m a P license holder.

My question is, is this true? I’m not claiming MY insurance.
I’m claiming the person that bang me ( third party claim)
Please assist thanks.

I assume you are making OD KFK claim

If direct TPPD claim, you don't have to pay the penalty

No worries, ask your insurer to provide receipt for the penalty

Then go ahead and do TP LOU claims against the TP insurer. You will be able to claim for the penalty amount plus loss of use amount

Ask your workshop to assist you. It is a common practice

They will know how to do it

If you manage to convince sarjan to saman B then can

Saman B for reckless driving, not failure to lodge police report

B's insurance will still cover the cost even they know A parked the car illegally if B has car cam as evidence?

They will allow it base on police investigation outcome

If A didn't make report in 24 hours then B is safe?
Previously few cases heard from diff Sarjan that they can't proceed if one side didn't make report, wonder if that's true hmm.gif

They will send letter to B to come to police station to confirm involvement

If B refuse to come and you push hard enough, police will still issue saman to B

Btw recall that there's a case where the lorry rams through all the cars parked somewhere at putrajaya road side, wonder how's the case goes as officer said no compensation can be made since the car parked illegally first
