I don't care about top speed, but it's really useful to cut people using sport mode in the high way when you need the extra oomph . But of course we should drive sensibly most of the time.

Not enough for this work because there is no speed limiter and it is not in for personal cars. Everytime you see a lot of the highway people drive at what speed?
They should have speed sensor and limiter in the car to over ride drivers love of speed of the range like suppose to be 80 km they are doing? 120 km!
*
I think driving 120km/h in constant speed is not really dangerous, but tailgating and switching lanes abrutly and sudden acceleration that really increase the accident rates.
It's all about driver attitude. We should always be considerate and polite, no matter what kind of car you are driving on the road.

Cool. I would like to apologise to anyone offended with my speed brag.

Mind you, I'm a speed junkie. But I do it when I feel safe, safe for me, safe for everyone else. You might argue the term 'safe'. I have several formal training in defensive driving and collision avoidance.

If you know me, I can be considered as an ethical driver. Always follow speed limit, not cutting lanes, etc.

As for speeding, my morale says you can speed, but safely not recklessly. SPEED DOESN'T KILL. MOMENTUM IS WHAT KILLING YOU.

Thank you.
*
I think stupidity kill also haha.

Hmm..macam high chance that it's DBW now too..nevertheless quite good response in Manual mode
*
Now I started to imagine a battery fail scenario, M2 will not able to drive even if it's jump started by cable. The only way is to replace the battery. But our battery still very new lah.

It depends on whether the demand for CBU units warrants for Bermaz to invest locally to CKD M2.
*
I think even CKD will not be a lot cheaper for m2. but it could happen. May be they will take out the rear disc brake and leather seat and the mzd connect and the 16 inch rim. may be 70k is possible.

I mention this b4 and I will say again.

engine oil, oil filter and labor charge is standard depending on where u buy from. The main difference are the more expensive parts which on normal circumstances needs to be replaced after car warranty expired such as drive shaft, suspension, absorber and it's connected parts, rear wheel bearing, brake rotor, brake calipers, etc etc... Those are where the real painful maintenance are. I think we also recently discovered that our options for tyres also quite pricy unless u don't mind ur car having a weird look, you can use Honda City spec tyres or if u willing to spend slightly more (RM30-50 more) but lower ur car a few mm u can get Satria neo spec tyres.

Next the MZD Connect system if kaput, as far as I know no aftermarket alternative yet and even if available you will loose the options to change some of the car settings in ur MZD Connect system. So change at ur own risk. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Anyone could estimate mzd parts vs T?H/N price difference? How many percent?
If the current m2 is more popular than the previous one which I am quite confidence it will, and when it's CBU from thailand, may be there is a lot of OEM parts available. So generally we just need to have faith that the maintenance should not be a lot expensive than other japanese car brand.

i try to poke the SA on this matter as well, yep, like you said, they know nothing, since the brancj i visited is 3S, i also tell them to check with the SC portion, and the answer is like what you said... no answer....

i do found a page comparing the B segment hatch(Aussie site though but it serve as a good reference), if it's true, then Mazda 2 is a bit up scale in terms of maintenance.

See below:
http://www.carsguide.com.au/car-reviews/20...52#.VUuOM5OzuuY
*
When we made the choice, we believe that our decision is correct, and we believe this car suit our style and taste. We also know that it is costlier to maintain, but so does many nice cars in the market. I would say that the maintenance cost shall not be a major consideration when someone can afford and really like the car.

If he/she can't really afford, then better go for more common car.

in my case tarak savings bro... I kinda have zero tolerance for cranky noise in the car. How also must fix only I can drive comfortably. Else I can't shake the thinking of my car gonna collapse anytime on the road. laugh.gif

deswai I end up spending almost as much as paying installment of the car hence my decision to get new car. biggrin.gif
*
I am the opposite, I have maximum tolerance for noise and problemetic car. It really take a lot of beating for your car to collapse.
I have drive so many times with empty water in radiator, and countless car towing experience.

But life need to change eventually. haha.

Of course I keep monitor the temperature meter, drive 10 min, rest 20 min, then drive 10 min and rest 20 min. Until you reach the workshop. Kind of adventurous.

Have to check battery maintenance method then. No choice, else, RM700+ for battery replacement.  blush.gif

Eh, means we need to top up battery water?? Actually normal maintenance battery has it's merit.
When it's almost kong, it give you last one or two round of charging if you top up the battery water.
Maintenance free battery is sudden death scenario, cannot revive at all.

just need to refill battery water every once in a while. Once every month would be best I think. hmm.gif

Haha it's still nice to open your bonnet every month to check whether got dead mice, dead snake...
Just joking.
But it's good to check oil and water(battery, radiator, windscreen shampoo), once a while.
