Hi ,

1. Preferred brand - Any
2. Budget - rm 3.5k
3. Usage - Gaming ( I tend to play new games but i don't mind playing it in lowest quality ) , Assignments in Uni , Net surfing
4. Preferred - screen size of 15'' is enough

Additional notes :
- good cooling system as i am a heavy user so i hope my laptop wont overheat easily
- easy to upgrade

p.s i saw the MSI GP60 2QF LEOPARD PRO ( gtx 950m 2gb ddr3 ) and the specs seems awesome considering the price ( 3.5k ) but i can't seem to find any review or video or display of this model , so anyone using this model can pls share their experience with it ? thanks

thank you for your help !

G551JM-DM053H – 15.6” FHD / i7-4710 / 8GB / 1TB / GTX860 4GB / 6 Cell / W8.1 : RM3920/-

Acer
Aspire V Nitro VN7-591G-744NK – 15.6 IPS FHD / i7-4720HQ / 8GB / 1TB+8GB / GTX860 2GB / W8.1 : RM3320/-
Aspire V Nitro VN7-591G-78SG – 15.6 IPS FHD / i7-4720HQ / 8GB / 1TB+8GB / GTX960 2GB / W8.1 : RM3550/-

Lenovo
Lenovo Y50-70 5943-8435 - 15.6” FHD / I7-4710HQ / 8GB / 500GB SSHD 8GB / GTX860M 4GB / DOS / RM3200/-

As for the MSI model it is prefer to get GE 62/72 and GT series as the newer model 62/72 has better cooling system but it is out of your budget. So far, best cooling system is the Lenovo (From what i have gathered.)

Feel free to ask any questions.

What heavy task you're doing ? If you don't want to spend too much, and are willing to just get an entry level gpu, Dell Inspiron 7447 will be sufficient.
Since you are okay to play on lowest settings of those high demanding game, so it should be fine for you.

FYI, there is no "easy upgrade" for low-mid range laptop. The most you can "upgrade" is RAM and HDD/SSD. CPU and GPU are soldered so you can't upgrade it.

-heavy using as in i tend to play games continously for a long time or using it continously for a long period of time so i dont want a laptop which overheats easily even with a cooling pad

-the upgrade i meant was like what you said upgrading in RAM / SSD / HDD , sorry if '' easy to upgrade '' meant differently as i have no experience in upgrading anything on laptops before >.<

-thanks for your recommendation on the Dell Inspiron 7447 , i'll look further into it

If you want decent gpu, get Acer V Nitro, the current best bang of buck. But you need to do some tweaking to get a good cooling.

Good morning !

1. Preferred brand - Any
2. Budget - Around 1k and below
3. Usage - surfing, emails, fb games
4. Preferred screen size - 11, maybe 12

Used to something light and portable like previous MacBook Air 11, while waiting for new Macbook to arrive here, looking for something in the meantime. Read about the Asus Eeebook 205 getting good reviews, but haven't come across a demo unit yet. Came across a jot10 but not sure about the battery life.

Priority is light and portable, good battery life, value for money. I have no need for i7 ultrabooks as they will be underutilized.

Thanks in advance again, your previous recommendations have helped alot smile.gif

ROG is a good deal at the moment. others might be overprice such as MSI 62 series, Illegear.

Hi all~

1. Preferred brand: Any, except Acer and Illegear (due to certain reasons i have to forget Illegear, i now its a good choice sweat.gif )
2. Budget - Around 5k and below, aimed for 4.5k(+/-) to allow extra for upgrade RAM or SSD, its optional tought, maybe no need too.
3. Usage - autocad, 3d modeling/rendering (works), high gaming sometimes
4. Preferred screen size - 15+ or 17+

i have planned to purchase MSI GE72-2QD (RM4.599) and now included GST already become RM5,199 !! that already created some dilemma to my pocket, therefor have to seek for other options. i have looking for GTX960m laptop on other brand yet only know MSI have them with my budgeted price, and Illegear too.

Up to date option, older MSI (GE70) or Asus ROG or Lenovo Y50....

Thanks in advance

Well, for your budget Quadro and Firepro would be out of budget. So, the best is getting better GTX cards with the extra cuda core but less precision and software optimization. The i7 HQ/MQ would be sufficient. As for MSI GE70, i would not recommend it as the cooling system is not really good. While the 960M is faster than 860m it is essentially the same card with the 960m clock speed higher (Faster GHz).

Feel free to ask any question.

erm, why hmm.gif any reasons? but compare to ROG (service after sales is sucks) and overprice MSI, still Illegear is ok. unless you want to get alienware, but AW is kinda, bad specs. not high enough compare ROG, MSI and Illegear. Lenovo is cheaper, quite worth to spend too
