wow! i'm glad to see this thread is kicking and alive with posts after the drought!  rclxms.gif  thumbup.gif

happy to see more mkb users flocking in, this also means there's possibility of running our very own groupbuy in near future, though it may only be a wishful thinking but at least there's a glimmer of hope now  rclxm9.gif

Really hope it will happen though.. Then I'll have more keyboards..XD

That keyboard is...
Topre Realforce 103U SE4200 (White casing) Variable Weight (30g/45g/55g)
*
I think I can imagine the Topre feel, watched some videos, really soft and elegant sound, hope I can try one.

Yea, i just watched a video of someone reviewing the keyboard. First time i found out that there's variable weight in a keyboard. More keyboard science to learn. tongue.gif

Still, I don't really understand why he chose to use a keyboard with variable weights for gaming. Consistency is one of the highest requirement imo,for gaming.

If he just always use QWER, I don't see anything wrong with that as QWER keystrokes are 30g. It's consistent.
30g is good for multi-tap, and most ANSI layout do not have uniform 30g choice.

Note: 30g commonly available in JIS (Japanese layout, not ANSI).

WALAO... TOPRE is favorite for IG.ChuaN and majority are use Cherry MX only him use Topre as main MKB..Wow, I think Filco has minority users, Topre has it too in Gaming!!!

thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Thumbs UP ChuaN, not only make Malaysia proud but make Topre users proud of this !!!

(p.s : Maybe TOPRE is too expensive but if Topre been given a chance to sell in MY market, how they'll promote it(like opening price etc.) because it is 'rare' and little unpopular like buckling spring)

Burning use Realforce TKL. What weight, I don't know.

The other players usually rely on MX Blues.

I use any board to play Doto, as long as mechanical.

35g linears please don't use to play FPS, cuz you'll tap too hard and hurt your fingers, but that might be due for an update since I've retrained my fingers.

MX Blues can also be used to play FPS, but the clickiness is not there so it's kinda no so fun.

Best overall gaming switch is actually 45g Topre with spring loaded spacebar because 45g is too light and you'll accidentally actuate the spacebar when resting.

Caveat: all the above are my personal experience, so YMMV.

not worth it due to its non standard layout which makes it hard to get keycaps

Btw guys, I noticed that when I type on the keyboard. Sometimes there will be duplicated characters coming out. It happens randomly and occasionally. I'm not sure whether it's because of faulty switches or because of my own way of typing which causes it to double press without me knowing.

Anyway,it is not restricted to a certain key. When it happens, I will try to check that particular key and tried pressing on it a few times to see whether it happens again but sadly I wasn't able to reproduce the double character output no matter how slow/fast I click or tap or double tap( double tap will have 2 characters, no additional characters ). So I kinda feel like it's not a problem with the switches.

What keyboard you're using?

Last time, my Razer BWU Chroma got this problem too.
Based on what I've researched, it says it's due to some residues in the switches.
Cleaning them properly and add grease/lube should fix the problem. smile.gif

yea, some mentioned about cleaning the switch will solve it. I'm using a Ducky g2pro. I think this thing has been sitting on the shelf for quite some time. >.<

Guess I'll just live with it if it's not too consistent. Don't really have time to solder, take out the switch, clean it and put it back. sweat.gif

if it's just to clear the switch inside, you don't really have to take the switch out.
one of the way you can try is to remove the keycaps of that affected switch, press down the switch until you see enough opening for you to spray some high pressured air inside or something similar.

if this doesn't work, then only resort to changing the switch.

I don't need you need to desolder the switches completely.
Just open up the top housings of the switches, blow out the dust and also add grease to the springs. Some said clean with alcohol. smile.gif

But I thought opening the housing of the switches requires desoldering the switch first?

Just imagine this, but the bottom housing is still soldered to the PCB.
