QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Mar 13 2015, 03:50 PM) I beg to differ though, i think the price is a very valid point of argument because the difference is significance and from the picture and first hand review of some youtubers, the quality isn't really far off from these 3rd party devastators. we have to remind ourselves that this is a toy and it will always remain a toy. 3rd party manufacturers and hasbro have different conception in mind where the former has "display/collectibles" in mind and the latter has "play". In this sense, i think hasbro nails it. I wouldn't play with Green Giant etc with the risk of "damaging" it. it's just way too valuable. same here.Keeping everything simple and fun. I wouldn't let my nieces and nephews play with the Green Giant (if i have one =P) but i don't mind them playing with the CW Devastator. Same thing, I let my nephew play with my AOE Optimus Prime but not the ROTF Optimus Prime because the transformation of the ROTF is just too damn tough. People will always complain just like how people complained about Hasbro's Superion but worshiped Takara's. They are the same thing but really, does the color scheme make such a HUGE difference, i don't think so. People complained because, they like to complain, that's all. The Devastator may be subject to further tweaks because it was an early preview. Look back at the Superion when it was first released by Hasbro, it's not captivating at all. When Alpha Bravo was revealed to replace Slingshot, it seems to many as if Hasbro has committed treason but now, people are praising Hasbro for releasing an alternative. Having the luxury of all worlds is definitely good but really, if you asked majority of the people who bought Devastator, they want Devastator, not Long Haul or Mixmaster. Further, not everyone has the financial ability to choke out RM1,000.00 just to buy something to display so i think Hasbro has enable many people to make their dream come true. i am planning to get that hasbro devastator for my son's 3rd birthday. he loves construction vehicles. |

Infernus' jet mode resembled one character from Transformers universe (guess who?). He is named so because of his fiery red color scheme and with spikes and horns all over. He was known to rise from the depths of Cybertron hell, a culmination of millions of sparks who died horribly in the smelting pool.
![]() ![]() The jet transforms into robot without taking off parts. And the transformation sequence is incredibly simple indeed! Even though set 31032 offered tons of balljoints... I've used them all up leaving only one orphaned socket part (there's no balljoint to complement it). If only they offer this one part in this set and I will be able to make an articulated head. Presently Infernus only can look forward and unable to rotate his head. ![]() One of the major highlights in my project is how to make the nosecone halves (forming robot legs) aligned with each other . One of the way is to implement a peg on one half and a peghole on the opposing half. The 1-stud long peg looks ugly but I always favor structural integrity over aesthetics. ![]() ^ the aforementioned orphaned balljoint socket ended up at the back of his pelvis. ![]() ![]() You will notice he don't have eyes (read: there's no suitable transparent parts from set 31032 to be used for eyes.). I don't think he need proper eyes (or face even!) since he's literally one hell of a character, like grim reaper. ![]() ^ Strolling casually to Hell's Kitchen to get energon cubes. For more photos and building instruction, do visit my blog entry below. Thanks for your support guys. Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO 31032 Alternate Mode: Infernus with instructions ! |
