Just wondering if motherboard will affect the speed of my ssd

I'm currently using a GA-H77M-D3H which supports SATA 3.0 6 Gbps
and I plan to buy a samsung 850 evo 128gb

Wondering if my motherboard can fully utilize the ssd...

Thanks

depending on the sata port you are connecting your ssd to, yes, it will. the best sata ports are intel-based sata port. check your mobo for details.

Yeap, it's an Intel H77 based board (not sure about the sata port though)
There are 2 SATA 6Gb/s port so I guess 850 evo will be worth it?

Thanks!

Hello guys, have been following this thread for awhile now. Is there any way to check warranty on the 850 evo?

I'm about to pull the trigger on one. Cheapest I've found around.

I don't really mind an imported set if the warranty is intact.

Even if got warranty, it will be very problematic as you need to send the SSD back to the original country and the time is sweat.gif

That is indeed true. I was looking for a budget/mainstream ssd for my spare system. Was browsing through lazada and stumble across on what I thought was a killer deal. Glad I came here before I pulled the trigger. sweat.gif

Okay, I've set my eyes to the transcend 370s 128gb variant as it's below the RM200 mark right now. Promising reviews. 3 years warranty.

3 years doesn't bother me as I'll probably change to a bigger ssd anyways in that time period.

er what problem are you trying to solve? the normal process of migration is pretty straight forward. connect your new ssd to your computer via usb adapter. run migration software and start the migration. the new ssd will be detected automatically as target disk. proceed by following on-screen instructions.
