Standard answer, you cannot double claim. You are not to profit from insurance.
*
But why?
Both Insurance Policy A & B has obligation to pay out in case of something happened..
Unless it implicitly written that you cant claim from other insurance?

It depends on what the coverage is.

For example if you buy 2 travel policy, and if you die due to accident while travelling, then yes you will get payout for both policy.

For example if you got admitted to a hospital due to an injury, and let's say the total cost is rm5k, then 1 policy will pay you the 5k.

If you masuk hospital, and the hospital bill is rm300k for example, then if policy A covers rm100k, policy B covers rm200k then you claim from both.

For the case of hospitalisation, it's reimbursed the cost incurred. for the case of death, it says it will pay out the amount stated.

anyone know any insurance company that still offer travel insurance for elderly age older than 85.
Malaysia insurance company only offer for age 85 and below, but seem it's common for oversea insurance that still offer travel insurance for elderly more than 85 years old.
thanks

Hi,
i had recently got a airasia flight cancellation due to bad weather typhoon Yagi on 5 September 2024.
I only got the SMS from them at 3am ,10 hours prior to original departure time at 2pm..
it was initially a flight delayed to 11pm same day, then got another SMS at 1pm that the flight was cancelled.

my first question is whether i can claim hotel and meal allowance from AA.

secondly, apart from buying insurance from Tune Protect ,i also charged my flight tickets to my UOB card which come with free travel insurance.

So far, has anyone managed to claim from airlines or insurance companies due to flight cancellation because of bad weather.

thanks for your response.

If you have to ask this question, best to buy from a good insurance agent and let him/her handle the claim. Not worth saving some money to buy online direct from insurance cpg.

Read the policy. Different card, different policy. I have one card that only covers luggage etc. None for flight cancellation.

2) Buy directly from the insurer's website and save 25% of the commission fees. Don't buy from websites like Bjak or other agents (e.g. banks, airlines, etc. as they are just agents for the insurers).
Yes, you save money. But you will have to do the claims yourself. Only you can decide worth or not.

I buy from a particular agent because he does these for me in the past.

Was on a group trip in Oct, one lady had appendicitis, apparently needed to pay herself as insurance didn’t cover. Unsure which one think Chubb but heard they had to fork out $30k in Kyoto to treat it

Doesn’t insurance covers such as it is deemed as non known illness?

Hmm, any more info on why cannot claim ? Extended family is considering Chubb travel insurance though I am biased to Etiqa. Chubb's benefits is higher across the board, but also more expensive.

Story time: Our flight from Shanghai to KL via MAS was delayed from 4.05pm to 11:20pm.
(Although annoyed as we were already OTW to airport when I realised the delay, MAS treated us okay putting us up at a resort-like hotel with dinner included. The email to notify the delay was sent at 4am; who checks email while on holiday!)

Anyways, I had Etiqa Gold travel insurance plan. And if you put in the flight details correctly, it can detect the flight delay automatically and process the claims automatically. Flight was 28th Dec, money in my account on 9th Jan. It was a Family plan for around ~RM160 and got back total RM400 for 4 of us.

Hi All,

I’m traveling to Australia soon, but since I’m not flying in/out of Malaysia, I don’t think local insurers cover this.

Do anyone know any websites that can?

Thanks in adv
