QUOTE(Ericz @ May 9 2015, 09:30 AM) Yeah.. Lenovo Energy Management right Trust me bro, ive used the Nitro i used to recommend ppl to go for it but now honestly there's nothing that i really missed about it. Previously Y580 If not for the TN panel and slightly more bulky, I would have bought Y50 too Plus the cooling difference, Y50 performs great averaging around 72C in Battlefield 4 while Nitro averaging around 87C with same settings. And also the build quality, on Nitro u got to be really careful with the material that they use on the body especially on the cover lid. (Easily scratch and chip off). Last but not least, the Lenovo Energy Management as uve mentioned. |

When I'm buying the nitro, I poisoned my friend to get Y50 too haha and yep, Build/Material quality is inferior compared to Y50, backlit on Y50 keyboard is a lot better too. I take care of my laptop really well (OCD haha) and there's already chip on the surface coating at the bottom near the rubber standPlus the cooling difference, Y50 performs great averaging around 72C in Battlefield 4 while Nitro averaging around 87C with same settings. Wellll, got Acer cus of its design (prefer more 'typical' looking laptop) and IPS screen, but ended up buying a Monitor cus my unit have a 'white spot' on screen |

I also have the white spot issue before this. Its really annoying, and also a small white pixel on the screen. And the screen quality is also not good, as the screen surface somehow quite easy to catch dirt and its hard to clean it when compared to other laptop screen. I dont know maybe i got a lemon unit thus i already sell it and feel "lega" gila after that. Hi, got the VN7-591G-744N recently and thinking of tossing in an SSD to work alongside the included SSHD. Can that be done on this model and has anyone successfully done that and also cloned the SSHD contents onto the new SSD, to preserve license, content etc? Plan to use the SSD for OS & programs, SSHD for other data. Might up the RAM to 16GB also for virtual machines.
P.S. Will the warranty be void? This post has been edited by voncrane: May 10 2015, 06:48 PM |

Hi all!
I am a new member, based on Italy. I registered on this forum mainly because of this thread So I recently bought the 591G (4720HQ, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD and 960m 2GB). I ordered it a few days ago and I hope to receive it soon, should be in my hands before the next weekend. Paid around 930€ for it (shipped and taxed). I also ordered an SSD drive, the M.2 SATA 250GB Crucial MX200, to toss in alongside the mechanical hard drive that is already inside. I was thinking to dual boot Win/Linux, so both OSes will be installed on the SSD. As I already stated, I hope to receive the machine soon; I didn't read each single post in this thread (it is a bit long), I will slowly do it when I have time. But I want to be prepared for when I will get my hand on the computer, so I have a few question if you're nice enough to answer. 1) Is someone kind enough to summarize all the flaws/problems that have emerged about this notebook? Can you also share your personal experiences? 2) Is someone also kind enough to summarize what I should do/check as soon as I receive the laptop (maybe things that were discovered to improve performance/usability, things that I should absolutely avoid and be aware of or problems that my unit may have and I should check immediately)? All in all, I think this is an awesome machine for its price; I hope I will not be disappointed, can't wait to receive it. I will wait for some answers, many thanks to anyone who will take his/her time to help me through. |

QUOTE(zenquix @ May 13 2015, 02:38 PM) Can that be done on this model - yes That clarifies things a lot. Thanks. I was aware of it being done on models sold in other countries and the 17 inch, but wasn't sure if the same internals & techniques also applied to the ones manufactured for the Malaysian market.and has anyone successfully done that and also cloned the SSHD contents onto the new SSD, to preserve license, content etc? yes Plan to use the SSD for OS & programs, SSHD for other data. Hi, I am currently thinking to buy this laptop. As I scroll through this thread, I am kinda worry about the heating issue of this laptop.
But to be honest, I am not a heavy gamer as I use 2D CAD program for work only. Is there any owner here uses CAD program? Will CAD program like AutoCAD causes overheating issue? Thanks in advance! |

hey everyone,
I'm thinking about getting the Acer V Nitro. Checked around LYN, Digital Mall, Lelong, IPMart, Lazada etc. So far the cheapest is at IPMart. Has anyone bought from there before? am skeptical because i read somewhere they are middlemen only. Any ideas? |
