yep, not really bright. im using v nitro before, and now switch to msi ge60. i'd say this msi is about 30% brighter than the ips on the v nitro.

This is a well known issue for the Dolby Theater with DOTA 2 and CSGO. No solution u just got to turn it on back. It only happen when the game start for example in dota after loading, when want choose hero u hear "all pick" dolby auto off dy. Annoying i know.. This issue has been since on my 4830tg about 3 years ago.

Gets overheat easily? Previously when i use v nitro it rarely heats up when gaming. Always stays cool below 83'C. btw whats your temp while gaming? Do u lift the laptop a bit high at the back side so that its easy for air to flow. And i suggest gaming on air conditioned room / put a fan directly to your laptop. This help to cool down the temperature even more. I kind miss the v nitro dual cooling system. Now that i use the msi ge60, i only got one cooling system, my cpu is cool, but not my gpu. But it still stays below 86'C.

its normal, it will charge back when its below 90% if im not mistaken.

What program did u run to achieve such temperature? is it benchmarking program? btw one thing i notice when i used the nitro before is the hard disk temperature tends to get really hot. always above 40C especially if ure in non air-conditioned room, it tends to go around 45C to 49C.

It certainly will affect the battery life. But the effect is not as bad as heat. Heat is battery no.1 enemy. I suggest just unplug the charger whenever it reaches 100%. or even better just use the battery as u wish since sooner or later the battery will deteriorate anyway, thats the side effect of built in battery.

Different manufacturer different setting. Actually when i use v nitro before this i never use any cooler, since the fan is at the back theres no point of using cooler, just make sure that u lift up the back part a bit higher so that the air can easily flow. That would do the trick. U can try and see the difference in temperature when u lift and not lift the back.

I cant remember correctly as i already sell the laptop if im not misaken D2 under aircond room should be below 82C for both cpu n gpu in max settings.

Previously im using V Nitro, now already changed to Y50 and totally in love with it. And yes i love the conservative mode which stops the battery from charging at 55%-60%.

Trust me bro, ive used the Nitro i used to recommend ppl to go for it but now honestly there's nothing that i really missed about it. Even the not really satisfying "IPS" display on it. To me the most beautiful IPS display ive ever used is on the MSI GE60 Samsung PLS.

Plus the cooling difference, Y50 performs great averaging around 72C in Battlefield 4 while Nitro averaging around 87C with same settings.

And also the build quality, on Nitro u got to be really careful with the material that they use on the body especially on the cover lid. (Easily scratch and chip off).

Last but not least, the Lenovo Energy Management as uve mentioned. Overall Y50 is better in every way except for the TN Panel which i already got used to after a week of using it.

Ya bro, thats why i said the IPS screen is really not up to standard. I also have the white spot issue before this. Its really annoying, and also a small white pixel on the screen. And the screen quality is also not good, as the screen surface somehow quite easy to catch dirt and its hard to clean it when compared to other laptop screen. I dont know maybe i got a lemon unit thus i already sell it and feel "lega" gila after that. yup the rubber surface on nitro really annoying. I remember last time i got plenty of chipping. Padahal i take good care of the laptop.

Previously when im using V Nitro i also encounter this. But it does not happen regularly, sometimes only. I think its because of the Hard Drive warms up.

51'C-52'C is quite normal for V Nitro bro.

Yap, can confirmed that its normal. I got 2 white spots on my screen previously. And yeah the coating sucks too. Thats why i sell the laptop. Lol.
