I didnt said anything about overcharging. I think depends on maxis on customer retention. I have been using maxis since the beginning. I tried to port to digi late 2020 and they offered RM30 off for a year if I upgrade to 100mbps. I thought they RM109 as retention since the offer expired but never thought they would employ such tactic to caught user off guard.
*
I think that is to be expected, unless the offer is perpetual. And no, Maxis is not like TM that will give different pricing for the same package. Those retention are just limited time offer.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for fiber internet for my sister's apartment. Been thinking of subscribing to maxis since she already has astro but based on the website, there's no coverage available in her place. Weirdly enough, she received a flyer about maxis fiber at her apartment and showed me so I messaged the number on the flyer. The guy said that he can use one of the port available if I want to subscribe to maxis. How is this possible? Can anyone explain?
*
Means there is port, just need to update the address in the system. Just register to avoid port taken by others.

Register with the person who tell you there is existing port.

Oh. That late? I need to inform my management office actually. sweat.gif Yes, that’s my contact number.

Any settings I need to take note during setup?

By the way, if I request for public IP then PPPoE credentials will be changed, how do they inform me on the new credentials? Over the phone?
*
Actually, they will just change it on your router with TR-069 I think. Was helping a friend to request public IP and it was done over at their side without any user intervension.

I dragged 3 people in last week, still waiting for Maxis's confirmation
They are fast with new installations, but for those who transferred from TM takes forever it seems
*
Some tips for those who transfer from TM, pay your bill 1 month in advance so that you do not have overdue and no reason for Tm to reject your transfer. Any remaining balance after the transfer, TM will refund with cheque.

Yeah, they contacted me last Friday for the installation date and I told them I am doing transfer instead of new installation. Then they only help me initiated the transfer request. I believed it pending at TM instead of Maxis.
Staff at TM told me to pay 1 month advance. I straight away did the transfer from unifi app.
*
Then you are good to go. TM takes about 1 week to 10 days to approve transfer request, after that only Maxis can set installation date.

Heard also many bad review for maxis fibre. Late technical support coz need to depend on tm, frequent service down..
*
Yes they need to depend on TM contractor, but think of it, how many times your fibre cable or BTU can break down? once a week? once a month? Mostly those breakdown that need technician to come to your premise happens rarely, maybe even once in a few years time.
But I know this centiment is being used by TM die hard fan to scare people from switching to other provider.

i got to know that TM Unifi marketing team is (slowly) working on offering "selected customers" to maintain with TM to upgrade from 100mbps to 300mbps (with 2 years contract, of course) at the same monthly fees.

TM is renting their infra to Maxis, Celcom , Digi for them to offer Internet Fibre at the monthly rate that is a lot lower than what TM is currently offer. Whats the logic behind all these ? Is it due to Competition Act 2010 ??
*
Just pray that you are the lucky one. Imagine those who are not lucky, unfair pricing for the same deal.

QUOTE(blibala @ Feb 17 2022, 03:37 PM)
i even heard there is offer of RM99 for 300mbps with unifi tv and free voice. but that is insider offer already.
*
This is a whole new level already. But as usual, if you are paying RM159 for 300mbps while someone are getting RM99 for the same plan, how is that fair?

just signed up 300mbps. speedtest at max 280mbps no matter what. acceptable by MCMC standards and normal?
*
Go bug their CS to report slow connection. But just in case you have own router, try to use own router first and see if you can get 300mbps.

maxis router and my own router reported the same thing. maxed out 280 mbps. I search around other maxis user reported the same thing as well. on 30mbps they hit around 28 mbps, 100mbps around 94-96 mbps, 300mbps like mine around 280 mbps. I asked CS, they check my fiber reading all normal and within range
*
Are they serious? CS can check your fibre reading? I thought only the TM technician can access the BTU and check fibre reading. It is speed cap on the BTU that causes you unable to reach 300mbps thanks to TM.
So have to find ways to get their TM tech to reconfigure the BTU.

Not sure on what stuff does Maxis tech have access to, but you yourself can check the fibre reading too

Depending on model
For Huawei, plug a lan cable from pc to modem, then in settings assign yourself an ip in the 192.168.100.X range, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.100.1

Then visit 192.168.100.1
Login with telecomadmin/admintelecom

Somewhere inside the UI got section that displays reading.

For other brand ONT I'm not sure

Some older Huawei ONT's might require unplugging the fibre cable
An even older one requires a autohotkey script to keep sending commands so that it wont kick you out.
*
Doubt Maxis has access to that, otherwise why do they need Tm technician during installation or troubleshooting.

Also for ease of the transfer process and to prevent being rejected, make sure you pay the bill 1 month in advance. Any balance they will refund by cheque once Maxis fibre is installed and your Unifi service is terminated.

Hello ALL SIFU, I would like to inquiry about CONNECTION technical issue
1.
During 2020 to 2022 before February 22, I'm using TP-LINK C1200 router on UNIFI service, no need to setup any advanced setting to active VO-WIFI, just plug and play whenever the PPPOE successfully login.
2021 September I have purchased 1 pair of DECO HC4 for extend WIFI coverage to all my house, I connect HC4 using LAN cable from C1200 and no any type in PPPOE or else details, just following DECO App instruction plug and play
During on that period , my phone automatic have VO-WIFI function (My phone was Samsung Galaxy A72 & using DiGi)

After 2022 February 22, I've join to MAXIS Fiber, MAXIS fiber given a router of Huawei LG8245X6,as same as I mention on UNIFI, all the wireless connection was connect to HC4 (Huawei LG8245X6 connect LAN cable to HC4),
Used 4 days, I still didn't get the VO-WIFI function on my DECO HC4 when phone was wireless connected to router,
I think was MAXIS provided Huawei LG8245X6 does not support VO-WIFI function, instead I take my MAXIS FIBER PPPOE account and passcode to set on DECO HC4,
But still don't have seeing VO-WIFI active, Also I've checked on the DECO App, I 'didn't find any advance setting section to active/ de-active the VO-WIFI function.

Is that MAXIS FIBER didn't have VO-WIFI function?
OR
Is that MAXIS FIBER has VO-WIFI which I need to request Customer Service to active?
OR
Is that MAXIS FIBER provided Huawei LG8245X6 router I need to login into router system for finding VO-WIFI function?
OR
Is that DECO HC4 doesn't have VO-WIFI function?

2.
When I using UNIFI , my connection doesn't have IPV6, after joined on MAXIS FIBER, Finally have IPV6 only at Huawei LG8245X6, DECO HC4 are not detected whenever changed to follow PPPOE, still not detected.

Did I forgot to setup something or just DECO HC4 didn't have that IPV6 function to support MAXIS FIBER?

Here is the explanation if SIFU not understanding my WIRELESS connection.

UNIFI PERIOD * NO IPV6, HAVE VO-WIFI *
HUAWEI ONU - TP LINK C1200 ROUTER (1 YEAR 7 MONTHS)
HUAWEI ONU - TP LINK C1200 ROUTER - DECO HC4 ROUTER (7 MONTHS)

MAXIS PERIOD
HUAWEI ONU - HUAWEI LG8245X6 - DECO HC4 ROUTER (4 DAYS) * HAVE IPV6, NO VO-WIFI *
HUAWEI ONU - DECO HC4 ROUTER (1 DAYS) * NO IPV6 & VO-WIFI *

icon_question.gif
*
Try to check if this also applies to your Deco HC4.

Anybody having a terrible time with Maxis Fibre over the past week? I have been having shitty connection since last Monday where the internet only works from 10am to 10pm at best, and it instantly disconnects whenever it rains.

I've called/tweeted Maxis on this but they keep telling me my case is under investigation and will update soon. The soon has been a week and it's frustrating af

Issue has been resolved. Maxis guy came this morning exactly a week after inquiry. Turns out the modem wasn't the issue but it was the external fiber cable outside of my house. The guy said frequent disconnection after 5pm is normal because of high traffic since everyone wfh/study from home

Not entirely sure how much to trust but we've all been WFH since 2020. All good now tho
*
Don't think the disconnection is normal. even though congested you should still be connected except slow speed.

Hi All the Expert,
Not sure If anyone ask this question before.

I'm using Maxis Fiber and the original Router KAON I replace to TPLINK AX73.
Due to TPLINK AX73 do not have RJ16 port, I'm unable to use my current Panasonic Dect Phone.

The Modem (GPON) is HG8240H.

Reason: I would like to use the VOIP Service due to my old man at home want to use....

Is there any way I can use the VOIP Service?

1) Is there possible to set the GPON (HG8240H) to use the telephone only as there got RJ16.
(Just like when using Unifi that time, the RJ16 is connect to HG8240H and router just act as internet)

Any configuration need to change?
(Original Setting carried from Unifi and without any changes and now using MAXIS)

user posted image
2) If Option one cant work, how about option 2. Can I perform some changes or way to make either 2x router working on the same time.

KAON as Telephone as got RJ16 port
AX73 as Router for Internet
KAON (PHONE) ---- HG8240H ---- AX73 (Internet)
3) If Option 1 and 2 not working, can I use VOIP Phone and direct plug in to AX73 LAN Port and direct use the VOIP Service?

Any VOIP Dect phone can recommend... AX73...not sure if this work or got such.

Need all the expertise advice. Thanks.
*
Option 1 not possible, unless TM allow it. The best way is you go for option 2.
When you configure the AX73, choose the Maxis profile. One of the lan port (if not mistaken LAN 4) will be configure with appropriate VLAN for voip. So you just connect the Kaon router to that voip port on the AX73, and connect the phone to the Kaon router.
You can turn off Wifi on the Kaon router to avoid any signal interference.

So for Option 2 -

The KAON Router what should i need to do? remain the existing setting or need to change it to bridge mode or how? As if current is Router Modem as it connect to the Huawei GPON .
*
I think no need to change anything on the Kaon router. Just connect to lan 4 of the AX73

Nope, it wont work as the port for RJ11 wont light.
It only cascade the network only.
*
Ok just to make sure.
Have you check if lan 4 of the AX73 already set with correct VLAN? Can't remember exactly the VLAN for voip, either 821 or 822.
Second try, if you set the Kaon router to bridge mode and connect to LAN 4 of the AX73 which is already configure for VOIP, it work?

If still not working, perhaps this will be your last attempt if you don't mine to experiment.

1. Make sure your current Kaon router is connected to BTU, and internet and voip is working.
2. Change the Kaon router to Bridge Mode.
3. Connect your AX73 WAN port to one of the Kaon lan port, and setup the internet connection on the router with PPPOE username and pw provided by Maxis.
4. Check if your internet and VOIP is working. Restart both router just to make sure.
5. If both VOIP and internet is working, time for you to turn off Wifi for the Kaon router and keep it there just for VOIP purpose.

If your Unifi still active, TM have to service your request. You can call up 100 or livechat and report faulty BTU, because different CS response is different.

Hi all, I was a UNIFI user port in to MAXIS fiber on 23 February 2022,
Which I was existing free 6 months promotion

Base on their PDF Billing,
24/01/2022 - 23/02/2022 first month billing maxis billed RM5.25
on my maxis fiber 300mbps line RM4.81, phone line RM0.16
it's strange, My house didn't use phone line service (even I don't plug in the direct-phone) maxis still charge me.
So 5.25+0.16=4.97+6% total=RM5.27

24/02/2022 - 23/03/2022 second month billing maxis billed,
ONLY on my maxis fiber 300mbps account which price are RM69.18
+6% service tax was RM73.33
Was really free 6 months or I been SCAM BY MAXIS?
*
Did you call their CS to check? If they cannot give you the free 6 months as promised, you can report to MCMC and maybe ground for you to request termination or switch to other provider.
